after a looooot of digging around the internet, I managed to get hold of the daniel_k driver for this. current official Creative drivers provide all the functionality (except maybe the graphical eq), but these give the fancy XFi UI of old (I had an audigy 2ZS which i softmodded to an XFi back in the day so its a nostalgia rush)
just leaving this as a note to the buyer of the other piece
