Jean de Florette (1986) FRENCH

A very beautiful and simple Classic French movie. Actors played their part beautifully. Excellent cinematography.

The Seventh Seal (1957) SWEDISH

Ingmar Burman

A top notch classic. It's portraying a view of Europe during the years of Black Plague and Crusades. Watch this movie once and then you'll understand what I am talking about :) .

Federico Fellini

Really really ODD yet beautiful movie. It's a masterpiece. :cool2:

Yeah, I am huge fan of Asian movies. Since college times I started watching those sweet romantics. I forgot many of them worth mentioning.
I have influenced 2/3 of my friends to watched Korean movies and they became fan of these. If someone interested I can dig up some more.

I really liked pan's labyrinth
although I hated the way they handled the ending by showing that it was all in her imagination. That was obvious enough but would have been much better if left unsaid.

Finished watching Hausu just now and while it isn't even close to the awesomeness of Yarukku Yaro or Gunda and tended to drag a lot its was pretty interesting in its own way.

According to his interview with twitchfilm.net, Guillermo Del Toro said that the fantasy world isn't only Ofelia's imagination; the fantasy world does exist. In the ending, Ofelia does actually live in the world (where she would be more happy to live in than the real world).

Pan's Labyrinth (2006) - FAQ

Dunno about that but the ending shot clearly indicates that the fantasy world exists only in her mind.
