Fox Glacier

There is ice on the glacier.I have not gone close to the glacier.I am planning for a trek to the top of the glacier next week.The weather here is not permitting to go.I might also go for a scenic flight to the top for free it usually costs $240
 
Had been to Queenstown last weekend.Oh oh boy what a drive it was:clap:.The best route i have ever driven till date,passing through native forest,beach side drives,and the best was drivng next to the Lake Paringa which comes after Haast.The route i followed was Fox Glacier-->Haast--->Wanaka--->Queenstown.

The down side was couldn spend not more than 2 days in Queenstown as my friend had work.I did go to shotoverjet(the world's best jet boat ride).Over all the trip was exciting and kick a$$.I will be going once again in peak winter to see the snow capped mountains.Here are few snaps i clicked on the way.For higher resolution visit my flickr page

a friend of mine went on that boat and he said he puked after it.

@ Kranthi .The video is amazing ! I loved it :D. The clarity of HD recording on FZ-35 is really good.I am glad,i am getting it soon.

By the way have you/youtube lowered the quality of video.It doesn't play full screen and there is only 480p option.:S.

What are the tracks used for the video ?
 
^ If possible please also upload the 720p video in it's full glory and don't forget to check out the track name which is played at the end. I know it's some recent trance single but can't recollect the name :P

I will try doing that,else i will upload a new video which i have taken yesterday at the punakaiki blow holes and pancake rocks

Thanks for the track ,have been looking for it since last 3-4 days and yes as Brendon said ,the quality of your snaps has really improved :)
 
Had been to Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes yesterday.It is my last but one trip in West coast as i am heading back to Auckland in another weeks time :cry:.The Pancake Rocks are most spectacular in the Putai area. They were formed 30 million years ago from minute fragments of dead marine creatures and plants landed on the seabed about 2 km below the surface. Immense water pressure caused the fragments to solidify in hard and soft layers. Gradually seismic action lifted the limestone above the seabed. Mildly acidic rain, wind and seawater sculpted the bizarre shapes.

No dude i clicked in Program mode with low ISO setting and changing the shutter,exposure according to the scene.

Looks sweet.When were u here Tech Head??.Today is my last day in Fox Glacier i will be leaving to Auckland in a few hours,had the best vacations in my life time till date :D :D.I have covered the entire west coast except places like Milford sound and invercargill.I will be hitting those place in the next holidays.I could not go for the copter ride as weather here is pretty messed up from the past 1 week :(.

I will be back to fox glacier in peak winter when the mountains are covered with snow.I guess my next trip is going to be to Mount Rupehu ,Rotaroua and Taupo in winter.Its gonna be skiing time in NZ.

Keep watching this thread more photos to come .The flight i am taking from Hokitika( nearest airport to Fox Glacier) to Christchurch is gonna fly pass the southern alpines heard from a few locals that its very very good.
