How much did/do you make during the first year of your job after your bachelors(don't vote if you did a masters before your first job, just post here in that case) when you joined without any experience and without a masters, at the age of 21/22???

First Year of job
Only bachelor/school degree
No masters(if you did masters before your first job, just post here, don't vote)
Self Employed can also vote
Don't vote if you inherited a business
If you were still in school/college, you can still vote.

I am talking of your NET INCOME AFTER TAX (but before PPF, Mutual funds and other savings).

I am talking of monthly income.

Please vote and post :D

Also post your degree, college and profession and position :P

Arre yaar, just to know more about the Indian economy and TE :)

Can v please take it in a friendly spirit :(

And I have kept realistic options this time. I know that sub 10k is the starting range, and few people get more than 70k post tax. and pretty much no bachelor gets a CTC of more than 12-24L OR 1-1.5 or so tax paid monthly income.

So I have kept realistic options yaar :(

Indian economy and TE. You know what? Come to my hospital someday, I'll schedule a meeting for you with our resident psychiatrist. Would love to know what goes on in that noggin of yours.

Stop takin his case already... guys comon finally he has made a poll in which normal people can vote...

@rite: Why do u want to know more about Indian Economy and TE??? I am just curious... So u can make fun of ur poor fellow when u with ur high class people???

Neways I voted so lets hope it helps u...

Rite, learn how to pen down stuff like this.

1. It should be anonymous and not a public poll.
2. You cannot have age factored into the equation, cause this is indifferent to a "fresher" per say.
3. Your constraints are contradicting. Self employed can vote but inherited business cannot.
4. A Masters/PG discipline undergone individual can also be a fresher.
5. Net income definition is vague.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve by gathering information based on a hackneyed survey. Hardly makes sense.

You could have used an external survey platform and created a more homogeneous and finite mechanism for data collection.

Why would anyone tell you their income, that too on a public forum?

Dude its not like one of the facebook polls where ur avatar pic comes besides the option choosen by u so just chill and vote if u want to... I dont think anyone will ever know wht u voted...

I have made this poll private.

@Rite, if you post anything lame, I'll close this thread immediately.

1. How do I change that?

2. I am talking of your first job as a bachelor, whatever the age, but almost always it is 21/22, rarely 23 and almost never more.

3. Self employed is a self made person. A businessman can inherit a 1cr per month income from his dad, that isn't an achievement but a gift.

4. Masters usually enter the market at 23-25 and get paid more. I am talking of somebody who barely entered 20s, not somebody who is mid 20s. People after doing their masters will get a raise, I am not talking of that stage in life.

5. Net Income = CTC - All forms of money that will never reach you example TAX, Food, Transport etc = Cash in hand + PPF/Savings which you get later on.

And thanks for making it private, not an issue :)

And I didn't include >1.5L because the max ever for a domestic salary is 24L at IIT Delhi and that too is an income of around 1.5L cash in hand.

Nobody gets more than that from a bachelor as a domestic salary, some IIM(after MBA though and other colleges too) grads get more, but that is after MBA, in fact many get over 1.5L, but that is a different stage altogether.

And I doubt more than 5% self made businessmen would get more than 1-5L a month at a sub 23 age. So >1.5L is enough for almost all of them too :D

Wrong!

I know for a fact that you claimed on poll that you make about 20-40k/per month. All the response are public:P

Rite, though you justified what I wrote. Your assumptions are wrong. I was hinting at removing them from the seed post. But since you so finite in your ideologies it will not matter. Either just keep it age or just freshers. They cannot both be lumped together. Though you are not recording demographics of age and degree it still looks skewed. Also net pay quotation minus taxes is weird also. Structures change and vary over years.

Can the 1.5+ and 40-70 share their college info and what job they took which permitted this much and what the CTC was? :) I hope this is allowed and not forbidden over here. :)

The company I joined after college provided us with 2L Fanta bottles in our break room. So I chose the >1.5L option. Hope I didn't misunderstand the poll.

I passed out in 2003, so almost 8 years back. I wonder how that salary will help you. I guess its better to restrict it to 2010-2011 pass out, otherwise I can not think how the result will help.
