From Dual Shock to Six Axis !

None whatsoever. Sony says that, well, we just don't need any, but the real reason is someone sued them and they lost. The company offered to license it to them, but what with rising costs they decided to do away with a gaming feature............

sorta tells that they are nut$ dontcha think?

Hmmph...

No Shock is a downer :P.

Use to love feeling the Vibrations, when going thru a curve in Formula 1 2000 on my PSOne :P.

I like the Six Axis/DualShock Controller much better than the Xbox Controller.
Much better layout :bleh:....

I wonder. If there is one thing MS knows, it is usability (as regards ergonomics and HCI). That is the only thing they do right. They are never first, but they are always the ones who get it right and polished.

I rather suspect that people who use both X360 and then PS2/3 controllers for the same games will find they like the X360.

Of course Nintendo kicks a$$ in this section!

Tilt and Vibration can't co-exist with each other. And Tilt adds more playability, whereas vibration becomes unnoticeable after a while.

^^ i did read an interview somewhere that it could co-exist together but it would cost the user a lot more...

Don't see why not. Is there a specific reason or just because because Sony said so?

Tilt will be nice as if it can used as a steering wheel for that extra precision at 1/4th the cost in racing simulations.

And vibration isn't noticeable after a while? Obviously you haven't experienced any but the most basic feedback effects.

^^

When you shoot a weapon in a FPS on a console and feel the vibration, what more can you ask more ? Loosing vibration was a big mistake. I remember playing Killzone and pressing "R1" as trigger and experiencing vibration was really satisfying..

But i dont know, it might be possible that some Third-Party releases vibration controller or maybe Sony realising their mistake might introduce the controller later sometime in the future..

akS !

A third party vibration controller is no goodby itself - unless Sony provides Devs the API to provide such vibration effects, nothing is going to fly. And Sony can't - not unless they are willing to spend more money on licensing the tech.

Well, tilt will respond to the controller, wouldn't vibration conflict with this and make it just a little hard to control? Well maybe not, but its what I thought, never heard Sony say it. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony did actualy release Sixaxis with vibration later on (like Sega did with Dreamcast), Pelican wants Sony to use their technology.

eh? by most basic, if you mean most of the games on Ps2 on dualshock 2, yeah, then that's what i've been on, and I clearly remember myself not noticing the rumbles during gameplay.

Besides, like I said before, Tilt will add more playability to the games, vibration is just there for mere side-effects in small parts, definitely Tilt will be the better option to spend the money on.

I don't think rumble should be underestimated. It's the only other means by the game to give output to the gamer which would otherwise only be possible in the form of visual output on screen. Tilt on the other hand is only an altered form of an already existing control system(i.e d-pad, analog stick).

Well, the Wiimote has rumble along with it's motion sensing abilities. Apart from it's over sensitive cursor, noone seemed to complain about the rumble.

Bluff, you don't need to take sarcasms from Ck seriously.

Don't spoil my fun.:bleh:

Here is the interview where the SCEA boss said that the tumble and the tilt can both co-exist technically....but it would just cost the user more....

The six axis is retailing for $39.99? Is that the wired or wireless ones? If the former, then that's a pretty hefty price considering that the Wiimote comes at the exact same price with advanced tilt sensing and rumble. Of course, some games also require the nunchuck attachment which is an added 20$.

Still, this is something to consider. Maybe Sony it trying to make up on losses that will be incurred for every PS3 sale by boosting prices on controllers and other accessories.

Well, Ninty seems to be ripping off from the nunchuck, people will eventually have to go for both so that's 60$ for the complete wiimote package.

Also, for all we know that sixaxis technology does cost that much to manufacture, and Sony has said multiple times if they add rumble, it would make the price go higher, and there's always a possibility of it showing up sooner or later as it has for Dreamcast.

Though, no vibration really isn't that big a deal as people here are making it out to be.

Don't stray from the point. The Wiimote on it's own sports rumble and much more advanced motion sensing abilites than the Six axis while still selling for the same price. I'd say there's a fair amount of ripping off the general populace on all sides.;)

That is a possibility. Once Sony starts making profits off their PS3 we may see them paying Immersion their dues and getting rumble on the Six axis.

Hey, from what I heard, the nunchuck has become a standard. Not an additional

You get a single piece of both as standard with the Wii. For every other player after that it's 40+20$ each.:(
