Front loading or top loading washing machine?

Why do you need to clean under it?
I have no clue how to respond to this. Lol. I like things clean I suppose? Also ours is in connecting passage between bedrooms and kitchen/bath. It's an open type space which is cleaned regularly. And when you have a old open like house, you know big arse windows open almost the whole day, well, you get dust.
My machine is in the bathroom and there is nothing under there. Other than some dust which you don't get much of in a bathroom anyway.
Bathroom imo is one of the most practical places for a WM. Unfortunately I don't want to replace it as it will involve some plubming and sh!te.

Rats and other things like cockroach don't bother me that much. I mean I am obsessed with these things. So a rat enters our house (happened two days ago ironically), and it exists dead the next day. A typical hygiene obsessive here but no matter what lizards I cannot control.

Dont keep open any windows from the garden side so that rats climb the pipes and enter the kitchen. This is what happened in my house. Rats in my house if seen my wife immediately kills it. Coackroaches arent there here in TN where I live but in Hyderabad where ever we used to shift we used to call pest control.

But there is a huge problem of lizards in my house. There are I think about 20 lizards in my house even though my wife kills them as she sees the. They are producing in a great rate.
I dont know what to use either to kill them or reduce their numbers in the house.

But frogs here are many as do snakes as we live in a rural environment but in a township. We didnt have any snake problem until now but frogs comes through the washbasin holes & commode holes by through them and emerge and these frogs jump super height with having wide webbed feet not like the normal frogs we see but all are green in colour and small like the size of a 1Rupee coin.
So when ever we see or find them sitting on top of the basins and commodes we catch them and release them in our gardens.

I tell my wife to similarly catch the lizards and throw them away in the garden but she doesnt listen.

Update to my post where noise was coming from machine during start. It went away after a hot water tub clean using a descaler. Now no noise. Very silent in all wash programs. I guess it helps to descale the machine every 2-3 months.

We've discussed this one already. A two in one product. As an alternative I prefer to DIY with citric acid and floor cleaning Lizol. More bang for the buck as well.
This is a fake or ineffective product going by the price difference of it here vs the US. It cannot be compared with its equivalent being sold abroad (genuine).
The second one i mostly use to clean my bathroom and toilet cistern now. Both are quite effective.
Yeah, wondering if its even good enough for that.

Liquid Harpic contains hydrochloric acid. Works as a quick acting descaler because its quite strong and so is only safe to use on ceramic. Definitely not on marble and certainly not your machine unless you want to permanently tarnish the shine of your steel drum :bored:

I put it in extremely hot water (about 1 liter) and put that solution in the cistern tank. The tank was brown with a mud coating after 3 months of not cleaning it, and 2 hours after putting the solution the mud dissolved after to a mild brown coating. I've used it 2 times till now and its effective. If it was fake, I wouldn't suggest or use it. Btw, it fizzes up into millions of bubbles only in boiling water. People probably use it in cold water and expect it to work and it wont activate because its citric acid and some detergent two in one tablet.

How long does the fizz last

eg. with citric acid I notice the fizz is instantaneous and short lived.

With percarbonate or Vanish it's slower and the fizz lasts longer.

Citric acid and detergent will act against each other and not be as effective.

You don't need hot water with citric acid but its faster acting if it is in hot water. Otherwise in colder temperatures you need time. Think overnight to soak with a few minutes agitation to dissolve and cycle restarted the next day or post 24 hours and complete the cycle.

What's the recommended quantities of mixture ?
citric acid crystals (by weight) and lizol and water ?!
Depends on whether top loader or front loader as quantity has to match with volume of water used.

Top loader: 200 ml Lizol with 200 gm of citric acid

Front loader : 60ml Lizol with 100gm of citric acid on a 60 degrees Cottons cycle
