Front loading or top loading washing machine?

Guys I'm looking for a 7kg-8kg washing machine.
I have heard front loading washing machines offer superior cleaning. For those of you with experience with both, is this true.
Also, heater + drier also required.
Brand preferences: none. ( though those with good service are preferred).
I have read some bad reviews about ifb after warranty expiration. So...well I'm a bit averse towards IFB.

Edit: Budget: 35k
Get a Bosch washing machine, front load would be better for that budget

Is there any way you can visit a store that has the 12kg Samsung model?
It's a bit embarrassing to go there just to measure and no intention of buying it. Lol

Anyways, I went to reddit and like 90% of them tell people to avoid Samsung washing machines.

So, maybe I will go with LG afterall despite the price differences. Do you maybe know any online shop that sells them apart from the obvious ones like Amazon (I can buy only one or two models from there, others not deliverable), Flipkart (not delivering to my city), same with Croma, LG shop, reliance digital etc. etc.

Not really, it shows interest and odds are you might come back

Can't evaluate it without that info

Why were they saying to avoid Samsung

Did those people say to go with LG instead?

First front loader its better to get from a store. So you have some one to talk to if there is a problem. I'd pay the extra premium for that and being able to see the machine

Check this, this.. They said not to buy Samsung appliances that involves water.

Yea mostly.

I went to LG store today, their prices are like 20k more expensive compared to online. The lowest priced 8KG front loader they have is 50k.

There are more complaints for Samsung because more people buy Samsung and for the same reason. Cost.

These machines need to be maintained and if you do that they should last. That should handle the reliability issue.

There is no problem with spares either. I've yet to hear anyone on this board bash Samsung as badly. There's a number of people here with Samsung front loaders bought because of price. Their machines are also fairly new though

Usually it's Americans unhappy about front loaders after being on a top loader for ages.

Your second link isn't conclusive. People seem to complain about both and both companies have faced class action suits for their appliances in the US.

I've given you my reason. Another thing I don't like Samsungs UI. It's much easier when you can see all programs at a glance instead if having to scroll through to find them. You will end up using your phone to program instead and that tells me the UI design isn't good

That's quite expensive. Usually they have competitive offers. Any other stores?

Maybe you should wait for the next sales season. Read up more on these machines and use your top loader until then. You don't want to pull the trigger too soon with these appliances

I have bad experience with a bosch TL WM. started giving issues at 3 yrs age. currently at 5 yrs age, already have spent 4k in repair looking to buy a new WM. But I have to give this caveat that we use it like plug and play and dont really take care of it properly.

Yeah that's their base models. I was taken up with their Series 6 because it had an internal heater.
I'm desperately tryin to convince my mother to get a FL..
Give her this epic line by @tech.addict

She will only understand what clean really means after she has used a front loader

No better way to express it than that
she wants to get a TL since FL are "too expensive for us middle class people". any recs in TLs?
Nope and I would say avoid them.

Your purchase should feel like an upgrade. You won't get that with another TL no matter how good it is

You have the budget for a decent FL

Now figure out where you will place it in your house and if it will fit through the front door.

If you want your FL to last and properly clean your clothes then you are going to have to start giving a damn.

FL's need care and require a little more maintenance. You can't use top loader detergent in them only front loader. And its important not to cheap out on detergent as that can have a bearing on longevity too

So only liquid or powder (preferred) from the big names and avoid anything else. Yes, detergent will cost more so let her know that too.
