As said in the question,This is utterly confusing me,all connections on the motherboard are good,i cant get my headphones to work..
Any suggestions,
My config is in my siggy

Oh..By the way its a Realtek Hd Audio driver i've got..Hope it helps

Check the Mobo setting in the BIOS.

you will find an option - front panel - ac97/ vista compatible.

One of these works for everyone.

Also, look for a settings in the realtek software - front panel jack sensing, enable this.

I am facing the same problem(the front panel audio jacks don't work at all). I don't have any such setting on BIOS.(audio to AC97)

I have a MSI make motherboard K9N6PGM2-V.

Can anyone please suggest. Its a Realtek Hd Audio driver and on its Audio manager settings, the check boxes look ok.
Thnx in adv....:S

There is another possibility. If your PC is assembled, you (or the assembler) might have forgotten to connect the front panel pins to the motherboard. Happened to my old rig. Or in the rare case, your motherboard might not have support for more than the usual.

Of course, try all the other alternatives before if you're not comfortable with opening your case.

Thnx for reply. Of course I have checked the connections and support already.

Since I found a solution for another MB here, thought mine must be there.

ohh..I got the solution finally by trial and error.
On Audio Manager settings, I have checked "Disable front panel jack detection".
Now both jacks at front and back work together.
