Reason for Sale : I bought the modem, and found that it won't do wireless. But neither the customer service executives over the phone or the people at the RMA center explored the possibility that it could be a DOA case which would have meant a simple replacement at the retailer's (something I was not aware of at that time). The first executive asked me to update the firmware but didn't send me the firmware file; the dlink.co.in site doesn't have a easily discoverable link to this resource; the file IS available on the tsd.dlink site (mentioned by another executive), but the file there is rejected by the modem as incompatible with the hardware.

The brand new modem was given for repairs, which took a week; and eventhough the quality control manager promised a replacement, a used repaired unit was given.
So, basically, I have had it with Dlink and do not want to be associated with the company. It is just too frustrating and I wouldn't have the patience to do this routine again, if the product fails in the future.
I sure do not want to hand this modem over to the buyer without getting this off my conscience, since somehow it seems unethical to ask someone to associate with a company that one knows is bad. Frankly, I would urge you to stay away from it, but as they say one mans ****** is another man's *********.

Ofcourse, I got a TP Link modem in the meantime, and that is working as expected.

In the present condition, the modem is fully functional. It comes with the box and all contents, and invoice.

dlink service and product quality getting degraded day by day. i was associated with dlink but now i have tie up with tplink. some of the product it has is amazing. there is a range extender in 300mbps range which does not need to be connected with host router or AP. so its a wireless to wireless xtender.

Can be used as Wired/ wireless switch/hub.
No routing possible, AFAIK. Could depend on the service provider, I guess.

Go ahead and make an open offer. Using it as a 4 port LAN switch would be underutilising it. It's better used as a Wireless switch.

Down with Dlink. Avoid Dlink products if you value your sanity. Their customer service is really bad. You have been warned.

Buying Dlink is like asking for trouble.
Spread the word among your friends and enemies. Avoid Dlink products... unless available at a fraction of the cost to accomodate for the poor customer service.
On second thoughts.... don't tell your enemies.

On one hand, I am happy there are no takers for this product from a ****** company. My loss is your gain.
In general,  avoid Dlink, unless you are a masochist.

i too have bought this same model , thee first piece i got was not working properly(led lights), next day i gave it back and it was replaced with another new one , ther is a option were you will be provided with new one sealed pack within seven days if in any case you have trouble with product this is done by most of the dealers. the second piece is working fine without any problems, i dint know dlink service is so bad :-(
