Selling my trusty Garmin nuvi 680 GPS. It's about 18 months old and was purchased for $510 (can provide receipt). This was the top rated editor's pick in most GPS and tech magazines last year.

It is equipped with text-to-speech and comes with the latest maps of pretty much all major countries and continents on planet earth loaded onto a 2GB SD card and that includes North America (USA & Canada), the entire Middle East, south Asia (India, Mauritius), S.E. Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia) & Oceania (Aus & NZ). It also has a fully licensed version of world translator for helping you out in dicey situations abroad.

Other features: car mount to affix to the dash or windshield of your car, in-car charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter slot, Bluetooth transreceiver for hands-free calling, on-board MP3 player, dictionary, reader, address book, FM transmitter to pump your songs to the car stereo via FM and lots of other stuff.

The GPS has a SIRF StarIII receiver that is widely recognized to be the most sensitive in the business. The display is a 4.3" widescreen touch-screen unit and also has MSN direct for receiving the latest traffic updates, weather reports, movie listings and timings & the lowest gas prices in the United States, so its supremely useful if your job requires you to travel all around the world.

A full review of the product is available out here.

Contents of the package:
1. Nuvi 680 GPS + 2GB SD card
2. Charger + MSN Direct cable
3. Car mount
4. Leather sleeve
5. USB cable to transfer data to/from your PC

Warranty: No existing warranty. However, I'm so confident of its workings and condition that I'll provide a 15 day test warranty.

Condition: 9.9/10. I handle my devices with utmost care and the unit looks absolutely brand new.

Reason for sale: I have a weakness for buying and owning the latest GPS units and just bought a nuvi 785T from Amazon.

Does Gramin charge any subcription charge??? for India??

Or its one time payment all done and set even for future updates

There is no recurring subscription charge for any maps, although I have already loaded the latest/most current version of each regional map (N. America, Asia, Oceania etc.) so you need not worry about updating for another 8-12 months at the very least. The MSN Direct service is active until July 2009 but isn't applicable out here since there is no traffic update or weather and movie listing service in India. However, the possibility to use it abroad certainly exists.

New map DVDs and CDs are not free and you'll need to pay for those. However, paying up is not mandatory and depends on whether you need something that is not covered currently but has been mapped in a newer version.

The maps are just of major Indian cities or other towns as well. I was disappointed to see, for example, that my 6110 Navigator didn't have the Goa map. Does this have a similar limitation?

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that it does cover smaller towns as well.

I'll have to check it up since both my GPS units are lying box packed in the storage room. Watch this space for more info very soon.

Alright, I looked up different areas, including Goa and all of them are covered right down to the street level. Screen shots are attached for proof:

Here's a much smaller town (Daman) that's on the MH/GJ border. We usually drive over every month or so and its covered pretty well:

P.S.: The quality of the on-screen display is MUCH better than the screen shot. I had to convert the image to a JPG with a lower DPI to upload it to an image host.
