I use this APC800VA UPS and it does not do a cold start with my computer - my older APC BACK-UPS Pro 650 did a cold start - I would suggest a APC BACK-UPS RS 1000VA as a minimum on a fully loaded computer.

it does cold start ..... thing is u have to try 5 - 6 times to switch it on ... :)
it gives beeps and battery warning indicator comes up but if u try for five to six times it will start ..... on mine main setup it gives around 20mins of backup with full load playing games etc ..... but USB cable has gone kaput ..... every 1-2 minutes it will give message that connection has been disconnected chk the USB cable then again after 1-2 minutes it will give message that connection has been recovered ...... i don't have a idea wat is the problem ....
