The licensing deal between AMD and Intel is signed and done for putting AMD GPU tech into Intel's iGPU.

If you read comments, then it is not exactly the situation , simply told that the Intel uses patented technologies of Nvidia /AMD to produce their iGPU otherwise they could get sue for simply producing GPU. And the license of Intel is going to expire with Nvidia(for patent) in 2017.
Thus, they are looking forward to ATI for thier new license. This may result in better gpu/tech getting integrated along with Intel cpu, though I am not sure.
