User Reviews on 3500+ Venice

great deal
Bought this about a week ago and this chip is awesome. I am running it at 2.42Ghz and it runs smooth as silk. Average temp while playing World of Warcraft for hours on end is about 38c. idle temps around 32c. I am using a Thermaltake Venus for cooling. It could easily go another 5%+ on the overclocking.

great deal
The Venice does decent overclocking. Mostly only people with Phase Change have gotten over 3ghz. Im waiting on the 3700 San Diego core that has the 1MB cache.
So far Monarch are the only ones that carry it.

BIOS Update
Just remember to update your Motherboad BIOS so that it will support the Venice core. I just bought a 3500+ Winchester last month, so I'm waiting for the Athlon X2 (dual core) to upgrade.

Insane Overclocker
This is the first Athlon 64 system I have built for myself, ive been waiting a long time to upgrade my current system (An Athlon XP Barton clocked at 2.53Ghz 220*11.5) because im a poor colloge kid

This Processor is insane! I got a ZALMAN CNPS7000B-CU 92mm heatsink for this processor and this thing runs VERY cool at stock speeds, about overclocking! this thing will boot at 3Ghz!!! @ 1.525 VCore, it is presently running 100% stable at 2.750Ghz 250x11, if you have been waiting forever for a smart upgrade, THIS IS IT!!!

Awesome processor, oc dream!!!
Awesome processor. With stock heatsink the proc runs quite cool. Fastest processor I've ever used. Windows boots in 2.9Ghz but OCCT tested in 2.82 GHZ with 1.5 vcore.
Overclocked to 2.70GHz with vcore stock. buy guy buy!!
