OC & Modding Gainward the highest OCer in 6600gt series + Voltage Modding

The Gainward 6600GT Overclocking + Voltage Modding

Note:- I deserve not credit for the overclocking or voltage modding.
Its the hardwork of other people.
I also wanted you to know this thing so i am sharing it with you.
Any credit for this completely goes to the people who made it possible.

Voltage Modding

And so we ran 1.75v with a pencil mod instead of the usual 1.45v. We decided to mount on a big heatsink to the GPU core with the help of some trusty cable ties
The cooling worked great... even with increased voltage, the temperatures are much cooler
And we clocked her up to 658Mhz Core,1375Mhz Memory! That's 158Mhz increase in core and 375Mhz increase in memory!

They say that the voltage mod can also be tried on other 6600gt's

Mod EDIT: Upload the pics to an image hosting site and let me know if you want the links edited into your post :)

I can allow you to test mine but the catch is you gotta come here to test it... Are you up for it...
Thanks for teh Offer man but i am not too comfortable playing with friends stuff.

As far as Apo is concerned,i only arranged the GT for him at a throw away price also i can bully him quite easily

Mods , just bumped up this thread as many new ppl joined TE after i had posted this
thread and many ppl wud find it useful.

And this OCing ability of Gainward is why i prefer Gainward over another GPU brand in India.

I know this is the GLH version and it not available here as you might say but the 6600plain GLH version is available with MediaTech.

Did the vmod on my 6600GT yesterday night.
It was long overdue.
The problem for me was the temps.
I am now in process of installing my old maze4 on this.
But for 15 minutes for which i ran it, it did 635/1250 @ 1.65v.
I did not dare to go more on vgpu as temp went through the sky crossing 85C. So shut it down and removed the voltmod.
I will post my results with pics if i get camera from someone.

AWESOME!!! What are you doing to control the temps by the way???"

Nikhil posted 1.65 minutes later:

And what is the stock voltage of the 6600GT???

Its suppose to be 1.35 or 1.45.
Mine was 1.35v Gainward has 1.45v.

And you missed my last post. I am installing maze4 waterblock :)

i had my 9800xt watercooled.
Unfortunately it did not fit the GF6800 series due to changed mountings.
They came up with new edition of maze4 for that later.
But 6600GT has both 6800 and traditional mounting holes so it will fit this card.
Did not feel the need to watercool this before vmod as temps were below 70C.

am trying to source Asus 6200 non TC PCI-E. I saw a voltmod for it in VR-Zone, he touched 3300 3dm05 with voltmods...

anone can get it for me please?? :D

Well, update : Gainward has started selling the 6600GT GLH version with its renowed "Golden Sample" stamp and overclocked out of the box. Priced at 11.5k a bit higher but then awesome performance too ! Available in both AGP and PCIe

Many of you would know this but just posted as the thread is relevant...

@quad, I saw a post in Chip-India forums where a guy had posted the rates that he had got from his dealer and he had the Gainward 6600GT GS GLH listed in the post. Price : 10,900. But I can't find the darned post now. If I remember right, he was from Kolkatta.
