Galaxy S2 Issues??

^ who told you that? random shutdown aint a common problem of android. I have had a desire, desire hd & nexus s prior to the SGS II, and none of those phones had any random shutdown problem. BTW SGS2 shutdown problem was fixed.

Sorry but please dont troll if you dont have anything relevant to contribute. I have created this thread to invite SGSII owners on TE to allay my concerns not for trolls like you to come up with some some philosophical generic BS.
 
^ good, it seems you have a perfect s2. I think I have one too at least in terms of the screen. One more thing what is the hardware revision of your phone & where is it made?

bahh!! scratch that. I just observed that on the on-screan keyboard & on the dialer num pad, the left most column of keys are slightly darker/yellowish compared to the rest of the keys on the right side columns. :(

I am so SAD. I just contacted Samsung CC, & the fool says we have no idea about such issues & hence the higher-ups will contact you. What is this BS?

Very disheartened by the turn of affairs. I expected a perfect phone, heck every damn phone costing 30k should be damn perfect IMO
 
just got my S2 few days back and checked for all said defects and dint have any yellow or blue tinge but did find a single horizontal line running down the screen almost 1 cm from left side.

it was more evident in lighter screen shades and absent in black or darker shades.its made in Korea(as per written on back side).

I did show it to the service centre right away and they told its a screen defect and said the screen will be replaced under warranty and will take 3 days.
 
the blue tinge is present on the corner part of the screen when i open contacts/ log page , otherwise its perfectly fine. and in no way i am going to RMA for this reason :).
 
^^the yellow tinge effect does not show up on the test page available on xda or gsmarena, however only today i noticed that a yellowish/darker tinge is visible on the dialer numpad on the left most set of keys

Whether the touchscreen lags or becomes problematic to use when using while charging?
 
^ nope at least on my handset it does not becomes laggy or unresposive while charging.

BTW you can try one thing, it may or may not fix the lagginess. type *#2663# and then tap on update touch part firmware. Reboot. Most likely the responsiveness will improve.
 
^ Ok, it updated it from 04 to 07 but since the issue doesn't occur regularly so I'll post back in a few days.

Blue tinge? Is that a defect? Isn't it there to let the user know which way to scroll ?

I know you are not going to RMA it but can you post a pic? It'll be helpful.

I'm using the default charger.

I had looked it up on XDA earlier and found that it was a common issue with no exact solution.
Someone said that the charger wire was causing interference with the capacitive touchscreen, some said that may be the charger itself was faulty.

If he means the blue tinge at the left corner then that surely is not a defect :P
 
^ yup thats right. The blue hue I am referring to , appears when the display is viewed at an angle.

UPDATE: It seems my bad luck is getting lucky day by day :P

yesterday evening I was checking out the camera in low light and BAM i found the dreaded pink spot at the center. Next at night in a dark room i was using the phone with 10% brightness and I saw a dark patch about 1/4th of an inch bang in the center of the display. Although it is visible only in the dark with low brightness & on a grey background.

I have contacted Samsung Customer Support. Lets see what happens. BTW guys this phone was purchased on 9th OCT, so what chances do I have getting it replaced?
 
^You should claim/get a replacement going by the defects since the inception of this phone. Maybe you have to be a little harsh on your side if they decide to service it instead which I suppose will not be the case considering this is a expensive device and it hasn't been a week yet.
 
^Thanks Gannu for the optimistic post, I hope the sammy CC are as considerate as you. yesterday I told them exactly what you said..that the phone is just a few days old & I am having the issues since the first day.

BTW do you think I can ask the dealer for a replacement?
 
Its been more than a week & in the mean time I have contacted samsung CC 4-5 times. Every time their response is "plz wait our representatives from the concerned department will contact you shortly". I have written 4 mails & again the response is the same. I am getting really sick with Samsung's pathetic ASS. Never faced anything like this with either HTC & Apple. This makes me feel like a fool for going with Samsung for such an expensive phone.

Ok thats enough of my rant now. I request some one to plz help me sort out this mess. If anybody knows whom to contact in Samsung or can provide me a hand in getting things done, I will be very much obliged.
 
i have got my replacement today.had given it on friday(14th oct) and also got 2 messages from samsung saying about arrival of my phone for delivery and second one asking if i was satisfied with the service from samsung.
also got 2 numbers to contact in case i dint have my problem resolved.

im happy with the screen now,no yellow tinge,blue hues,pink spots or the horizontal line(my issue)!!
 
^^ yes yes plz pm me the contact nos so that I can get my phone replaced ASAP. Its been 10 days and Samsung is yet to come up with any kind of response. Also ariendj, did samsung give you a brand new phone in replacement or did they give you a refurbished phone?
