Is it safe to update to the latest 4.1.2 JKCMB1 FW for my TAB 2 3100 ?. I read comments that it kills the call/3g feature . Is this true ?. Many people are experiencing the same issue.

Currently I am with the XXCLL2 FW. Is there noticeable difference between the current one which i am using and JKCMB1 FW ?

thanx in advance

Recently came to know that those variants have nothing to do with features except they belong to different regions..

Yes i rooted indeed and was successful. Apart from the regional software, i have noticed one more difference. The JKCMB1 firmware as well as the XXCLL3 firmware and even the finally released INDIAN firmware have all lost the multi touch feature. Seems its wantonly removed. After installing the JKCMB1 firmware i was shocked when i found EZPdf was not able to respond to multi touch. Then reverted back to the XXCLL2 FW and everything was normal. Anyway i am not using EZPDF due to some reasons. But hope this feature will be a must for other apps...

Dont know for what purpose the MT was removed..

Whats your opinion with custom/cooked firmware ?. The Slimbean ROM is based on the latest 4.2.2. But since the 4.2.2 itself is not available officially ,i am scared to take any risk...

Do you suggest any CFW which is risk free and 100 % assured to work at the best like the official ones ?

This will be the first time i am rooting an Android :D so i'm the wrong person to ask!!!

EDIT: Nevermind, i managed to get SuperUser Access. :)

Yaay! My first proper Android root :)
