What about the sim in your smartphone ?If the user can afford it , then certainly 3g option is preferable as for some reason if your wifi goes bonkers one day, you can rely on the sim for the time being.
If your phone can put out a hotspot then you don't need it in the tab.
Otherwise as i said you have a dual sim capabilty with data on one sim and phone on another but this is pricey. The cheap 3g is not GSM and cannot be used here.
RightI could not justify the 9k extra for 3g on my ipad mini and hence did not buy it .
If i recall correctly with the 7" galaxy tab2 there was at least a 5-7k difference between 3g and wifi only variants. Pretty significant when price was under 20k.
Well, this is the interesting bit, OP gives the impression that a wifi only variant of this tab is also available. Well, in India they only sell the 3G version so i have no idea what the wifi only variant would cost. It would have to be imported from abroad.However, if the price difference were 3k, i would have certainly gone for it.
