BTW @TS, what games do you intend to play? The X360 controller is excellent for racing games, but not so much for SF4...

I have used an Asus ExcitePad, the XBOX controller and the Saitek Rumble pad Cyborg Rumble Pad for Xbox 360® and PC

I found the ExcitePad to be the best among these. All rubberised finish, great build and shape as well. Even the Saitek is good.

Make sure you see the product in person before buying it. Mice n controllers are avery personal thing and opinions may vary depending upon you biology and preferences.

Mouse+Keyboard combination is best for strategy game. You could use the Xbox 360 controller. It's natively supported by 99% of the games these days.

Considering that ur budget is 1.5k, I'd say Xbox 360 controller too.. u'll get it for 1400 retail price.. If you are not much into racing and sport simulation games, I wouldn't suggest that though.. I think a Genius gamepad would do just great in that case..
