Hey,

Since I took the Razer Naga Epic now...

I am thinking of upgrading my keyboard too...

Which keyboard should I go for???

I can spend 4.5k, and stretch upto 6k (4.5k would be better)

Any Suggestions???

So I bought the Razer Lycosa about 1 month or so ago, as I wanted a new gaming keyboard which at the time seemed like the right Idea, but it's just not working for me as good as the Logitech was.

I'll weigh the pro's and con's and then you can tell me which you think is the better option.

Razor Pro's:

* Keys feel nice to type on as they're rubberised. (non-slip)

* The blue LED give the keyboard a nice feel to it.

* The touch screen media keys are nice.

Razor Lycosa Con's:

* The keys become unresponsive every once in a while, so I have to unplug and then plug it back in.

* The programmable keys on it are awkward and you don't have seperate keys to program.

Logitech G15 Pro's:

* Very nice keyboard, well set out, nice size.

* 8 Programmable keys with G1, G2 and G3 so that's 32 programmable keys.

* Type on the keyboard feels nice. (not as nice as the lycosa though).

* LED screen which can be useful during gaming, showing cpu temps, speeds, processor usage and so on.

* Nice media controls, not touch screen, but amazing none the less.

Logitech G15 Con's:

* I've lost the leg stands..

* I've lost the arm rest.

* The keys aren't rubber, which makes them not as nice to type on.

* It's a bit dirty and needs a major clean and that'd take a good while

Why dont you go for Steelseries stealth or such? They are customized shaped and very comfortable I have read. I forgot the exact name and make, but gooogling should help..

@kidpikoon: Do you really need a gaming keyboard or you just trying to complete your gaming gear setup? The keyboard doesnt make much sense as a Mouse would do. Mouse provides all the precision for aiming and all that which a keyboard doesnt . Cause in my opinion (i might be wrong cause I am assuming you need the keyboard to pair with your awesome mouse) it's an unnecessary investment. You might as well spend the money on proper gear like mousepads or gamepads or steering wheels or better headphones or something. And get a nice decent simple keyboard.

^ Even I think the same about keyboards ;)

And I really am taking the keyboard to complete my set...

But a wireless gaming keyboard would be an upgrade (Worthful upgrade) to me...

^^ Gaming keyboards (wireless), are not recommended due to the following list of aberrations that might occur --

Signal ghosting -- most gaming keyboards provide a improvement in the gaming sphere by offering a really wide data path thus allowing constant transmission of key-strokes into the game with the least lag, I've noticed over a standard Logitech multi-media motherboards my Razer Lycosa reacts much faster and no issues of key-ghosting either. I doubt any Bluetooth standard can keep up with copper cables, akin to comparing a fiber optic cable to a a phone copper cable for Broadband connections.

So prioritize gaming or comfort.

Recently my Iball multimedia keyboard went kaput. Anyways i was looking for reasons to buy a new keyboard. So went ahead and bought Razer Arctosa. Although in terms of multimedia options this keyboard was way behind than my last iball one which had pretty good multimedia buttons on the side.

I had just bought dirt3 game before buying the new keyboard. So i had a chance to play with the old keyboard. It was little difficult to control the car using the old keyboard. But i thought it was me only not able to control the car good.

But when i tried the same game using the new keyboard, i could see the difference directly. The cars handling was improved drastically. It was behaving more nicely. Really loving the new keyboard. Only downside is the lack of good multimedia buttons, Backlit option and the too bright lights for num , caps and scroll Lock.

I had a question,

If a wireless mouse like mamba and Naga Epic (Mine) can have 1000Hz refresh rate and 5400dpi even when wireless, why can't the same technology be used for wireless keyboards???

^^ How many keys does the Razer Naga have and how many do you think you'll press simultaneously, plus imagine how much data flows from a keyboard, 104 keys (the membrane under the keys in normal keyboards and mechanical actuaion in the mechanical version).

I'll suggest the Logitech G110. It cheap and best. Priced around 3K, I think. I'm using it and it is excellent.

Naga Epic has 17 keys, from which 3 can be pressed together (I tried 3) and also the mouse continuously keeps on sending 1000Hz data of 5400dpi, which is a lot, this compared to 7 keys pressed simultaneously on the keyboard is nothing...

^^ Haven't been able to get any wireless gaming keyboards, recommend the

Razer Arctosa ~ great felt finish keys, can type on them forever and no slipping, ghosting is a non-issue (my Lycosa can support 7 simultaneous key-strokes, an Arctosa is a Lycosa - back-light http://xsreviews.co.uk/2011/02/razer-lycosa/) Razer Arctosa Gaming Keyboard OR Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Gaming Keyboard: SideWinder X4 | Microsoft Hardware / X6 TheITWares - One Stop for all Gizmos!Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Keyboard AGB-00017 -TheITWares (no experience on these sadly, the X4 is not listed on Indian online hardware retails) OR Roccat Arvo is there ~ 5000/- (here in Bangalore) -- sadly no Numpad while gaming. Roccat Arvo « XSReviews.

Hope this helps.
