Looking to buy a gaming laptop under or around 65k (can't extend my budget further. Looking for 4050 or 3060 at this price range and am open to buying slightly renewed. The only thing in budget I've found is Powercolor's Evol P15 for around 60k, all other 4050 laptops seem to be over 70k with the cheapest being the LOQ at 69k. What are my options right now? Can I expect a drop in price during the sales? I sort of have to buy it before 23rd March. Thanks for the help.
I'm also situated in Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar so let me know if any offline stores can beat online offers anywhere.

Does anyone have any idea what I should do in this situation?
Normally if you go to offline stores you can haggle some what and get it. But they won't have the kind of models that are displayed in Amazon or Flipkart. Offline stores models will be too generic and some old gaming models will be displayed in their shops.
If you want anything at 65k you might get it in a offline store but they will normally tell that it's 75k because online stores does not require any storefront they are selling at those rates so we cannot give at those rates they will tell. This is the problem with offline stores these days.
You write down the exact model number along with specs and ask for a discount. Try with the LOQ which was priced at 69k. Ask for a discount in offline stores.
I think mdcomputers and vedantcomputers are both located in Kolkata. Wait for others who know about any dealers in Bhubaneswar.

Are mdcomputers or vedant even decent laptop sellers? I thought they only sold pc parts mostly, someone I asked told me to start near chandni chowk though so I suppose I'll check them out anyways.

Chandni Chowk is littered with stores that deal with laptops, specifically. You can also drop by MD, Vedant, and Clarion.

I believe the one you saw has the HX series of processor which had encountered multiple issues. You should do your research about this processor in case you feel tempted to buy this one. Frankly, in your budget it will be very difficult to find a 4050 or a 3060 laptop that hasn't been compromised on build quality or otherwise. I would suggest to save up and wait for a sale or otherwise go hunting offline. However, don't have your hopes high about offline. Sorry, if this sounds pessimistic but the overall market for PCs and PC parts in India is horrible. And this has accelerated in the last 6 years.
P.S. You might have seen this, 3k above your budget, but nevertheless, - https://www.amazon.in/Lenovo-IdeaPad-39-62cm-Backlit-82K201UNIN/dp/B0B56CZ8Y1. Old processor though.

Is this a good choice to get though? In terms of build quality and all? I'm primarily looking for gaming and some light model training so would a 3060 be worth it? Afaik, it beats the 4050 in raster by 6-7% but there's no recent features like framegen (though I could get it via lossless scaling). If this one was a bit lower I wouldn't hesitate in buying it tbh.
Btw I'm finishing my second year of college right now so I wouldn't exactly mind a laptop which was a bit compromised as long as it lasted me around two and a half years because at that point I can get something better because I'll have a job.

Let me clarify. I am not recommending the Ideapad but just shared the link because it was the closest thing to your budget with a 3060. Regarding the build quality etc, I would suggest you do some more research with the help of the exact model no. and see what others have had to say. As I have never personally owned a Lenovo, not in a position to say. I am sorry wouldn't know much about model training. Someone here with a more sci & tech background might be able to help you out. If I were in your position, would save up and wait for a Independence day sale. If the 23rd March deadline is absolutely non-negotiable then would go for a Lenovo (that seems to be only reputed brand choice) available with ADP and warranty for one more year. That would offer me 2 years of 'protection'. Couldn't help much but best of luck with your purchase. Let us know how it goes.

Lenovo LOQ models had some motherboard issues previously, but I guess this was rectified later on and furthermore, the issue was with Intel series not with AMD ones. Anyway, OP if you decide to buy a Lenovo directly from lenovo website, I can help you with some coupons which I found during my search in Jan 25 when I bought Legion 5 Pro for a close relative. Not to mention, as everyone said do you our research and leverage AI for what suits best for your requirements.

I'm just trying to find something which comfortably fits in my budget, thinking about the loq or ideapad at this moment or some preowned stuff I've found. Lenovo's site is so ridiculously overpriced that even with their EOFY sale and my student discount, it comes around 10k higher than amazon or flipkart pricing, do let me know if your coupon can miraculously get me a lower price.

I've found this RTX4050 laptop with i5 12450H from MSI:
MSI Thin GF63, Intel 12th Gen. i5-12450H, 40CM FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop (8GB/512GB NVMe SSD/Windows 11 Home/Nvidia GeForce RTX4050, 6GB GDDR6/Black/1.86Kg), 12VE-080IN https://amzn.in/d/5GA82Fw
You may upgrade RAM after purchasing as this will not be sufficient for you.
Edit: This only has 5 reviews so proceed with caution.

I think the ideapad at 68k is a better deal tbf, I'm just trying to find the cheapest laptop at the 4050/3060 performance tier at this point, plus MSI laptops and their issues aren't really very reassuring

Could you please DM me the link of model you're intending to buy?

Is there a particular reason as to why you are looking specifically for a laptop and not a desktop?

What kind of games do you plans to play on it, can you list 5?

What other tasks and to what extent do you plan to perform on the machine?

I live in a hostel and often travel back and forth from my home so a desktop isn't in the question at the moment. A laptop is also required for my classes.

As for what I'll do on the laptop, it's a bit of everything. I play AAA games such as cyberpunk and rdr2, also was trying out indiana jones on another laptop i had (4060 but I don't have it anymore) but I also play competitive games like Valorant and R6s. I'll need to do a little bit of model training (very basic stuff for practice) as well as potentially doing a bit of blender and cad if I ever need to. I'm probably not going to be streaming other than over discord and don't intend to record much. I suppose most of my tasks will be gpu heavy so an older generation of processor would serve me just as well.

I found this Gigabyte G5 with a 4050 selling for 59k, seems like a pretty good deal also saw the MSI thin on Vishal Peripherals selling for 65k but that has a slightly smaller battery and a worse processor (12500 vs 12450), if you can extend the budget to 75k you can get the 4060 version of the G5 too.

How's gigabyte in terms of thermals and build quality tho? Is it safe to buy them for at least two years or so?
