Hi fellaws

My buddy is looking to build a cheap gaming machine for upto 20K [max limit]. He plans to play crysis on playble frames on it. He's planning to use a 22 inch monitor. I know that on 22 inch he'll not get best of the frames, but he's a kind of guy who'll be happy with 20 - 25 fps on 1440x900

Is it possible ?

it's very hard to fit a 22" in that budget anyways here you go-

+1

This is the bare minimum if you insist on a 22" monitor (Though I think you can save some on the PSU. 4670 don't need that much power). NO sense in getting an HD monitor and coupling it with onboard graphics.

+1 for naveen58’s AMD suggestion simply because there isn’t a better IGP than the 785G chipset. Also, instead of the cabby and SMPS suggested, I’d recommend the Cooler Master Elite 335 & 400W PSU Combo. Best VFM.

DDR2 rig

Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli ATX w/ bundled 400W SMPS - 1.7k

Optical Drive: L.G. GH22NS30 SATA/Samsung SH-S22F SATA - 1.1k

Micorsoft/Logitech combo - 0.7k

Total-21.7k

DDR3 rig (futureproof)

+1 for amd coz he intends to hv gaming rig .. reduce ur hdd to around 80 gb or 160 + take bijli with psu (stock) around 1700 + take lower budget mobo like Gigabyte GA-M68SM-S2L tht reduces ur budget even furthur n id suggest u to buy a lowe end gfx !!

Er.. i think since his main purpose is gaming he should go for a 20" monitor and spend some bucks on a good graphics card..something like a 4670/4850 atleast.
