Hey Guys

I know this is another gaming thread but I have been searching TE and other forums for a while now but haven't really been able to choose.

My deathadder has started showing signs of death (double clicking).

My budget is 4k.

Main purpose for the mouse is FPS + general usage

I hold my mouse with a fingertip grip.

Size of mice should be either big or medium, preferably for my grip style.

Here are the options I see (I have gone through a number reviews and I will be going through more tomorrow)

1. Corsair M60 - 2850

2. Logitech G500 - 3049 (why does FK quote 3499?)

3. CM Inferno - 2999

4. CM Storm Sentinel - 3499

5. Logitech G9x - 4099

Please pour in your suggestions.

I am also looking for a new mouse pad as my current one has worn out. Budget is 2k. Any suggestions on that?

A mouse for gaming and also considering general use look no further then the G500,you will love the hyper scroll feature apart from the reliability of logitech devices and 3 year warranty

FK is always on the higher side but has the fastest delivery time.

For gaming it has on the fly DPI change, programmable buttons, for BF3 i use the thumb buttons for primary, secondary weapon and melee attack before that i use to use the keyboard 1 for primary and when ever i tried to press it i used to accidentally press ~ and get killed.

You state that you use the fingertip grip, but want a big mouse for it.

Go for the Corsair Vengeance M60.

The Logitech G500 has conflicting reports about its hyperscroll function, some say its fun, some say it is annoying fro FPS gaming. Thumb buttons are also something that have received plenty of flak, and honestly I never enjoyed thumb buttons, so never bought a mouse which has them.

Ideally suited to gamers who utilise a palm-grip, the G500 provides a gaming experience to rival much more expensive mice.

As for gaming surface you have plenty of options, for Control mats --

Razer Goliathus [M / L] ~600/- OR 1100/-

Cooler Master PADZ [L] ~1200/-

Roccat Taito [L] ~1200/-

for Speed mats --

Roccat Sense [L] ~1200/-

Razer Goliathus [L] ~1200/-

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

^Vast majority like the G500 scroll wheel,if one doesn't like the thumb buttons one can always disable it.

I use the scrool wheel click to throw a grenade in BF3.

I also use the finger grip, infact in my older mx revolution(very big in size) i had made a hole in rubber grip such is my finger grip.I fine no issues with the g500 with regard to my finger grip.

Opinions varies from person to person, but hey it works fine for me i have big palms and i need a big mouse.

The control behind the scroll wheel is no longer used to adjust the resolution on the fly, but now controls the scroll wheel, toggling between free motion and what Logitech calls a click-to-click motion. Let's be clear: we love this feature and it's very, very hard to leave it after trying it! A scroll wheel that clicks round is better for gaming where you might want to select different tools, but for office work, having the wheel unhindered is better as you can get to the bottom of a document or a web page very quickly. And having the choice between the two is perfect when you share the mouse between several people: some people will always prefer one way or another, but the freedom to choose will please everybody!

Long fingers. Small mouse just makes it more like a claw grip.

Go for the Corsair Vengeance M60.

Seems to be favoured by many now.

Goliathus seems nice. Is there anything better or there is no point in going higher?

Do check out the Roccat Kova as well. I personally love the Kova+ though.

Not a fan of the design mate

How about G9x?

Long fingers. Small mouse just makes it more like a claw grip.

I use the Logitech G300 damn good mouse, and it is smaller than most mice around, makes a good fingertip / claw GRIP mouse, check my review --> http://www.techenclave.com/topic/510105-logitech-g300-review/.

If you want to invest in anything more expensive, you are looking at hard surfaces --

Razer Vespula ~1700/- [OR thereabouts].

Cooler Master Storm line has a few hard surfaces, not sure about the pricing though.

Roccat Sota ~1700/-

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Tell me about it, lol

How about G9x?

G9x is good to but that hyper scroll wheel mode button is located at the bottom /base of mouse next to the laser sensor, which makes it useless.

Besides its not as comfortable as G500 especially with long fingers.

A perfect mouse would be the G700 which is has big as MX revolution/M950(the most comfortable mouses out there) but has the gaming performance of g500 can operate both in wired and wireless mouse.Sadly they don't sell them in india.

Since I use fingertip grip, I already have control. I think a speed mat should suit better. My current mat is SteelSeries QCK (Just remembered).

Then get the Roccat Sense ~1200/-, the best speed mat I have experienced till date. The surface has a unique sheen and is butter smooth, it has a heft to it as well as I think Roccat has embedded a fine foil of metal in its construct allowing it very unique flex but once it is spread on a table OR other hard surface it stays down.

Tracking is great and initially you will have to dial down the sensitivity, over time as you become used to the smoothness you can bump up the sensitivity.

OR you do not want to buy a mat any-more?

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

My friend bought the Roccat Sense [L] for --1240/- almost a year back in Bangalore, so factoring everything including infaltion and the niche element of Roccat products I think price of the Sense will be more OR less unchanged, if you get a cheaper offer, well lucky for you Sire.

Hope this is satisfactory, Cheers!!

Found it at FK

I think I will have to settle for M60, though I am suddenly interested in RAT 5 (#chiragsthakur Me kill you
<
)

With that I think I should go with scarab instead of Goliathus or Sense.

The R.A.T. mice are --

1) Very expensive, here in India.

2) Don't know about their service network.

3) Search around on the net, their have been reports of unreliability.

So seriously until you have a direct contact in the US OR UK, please keep the R.A.T. aside.

Scarab is very expensive, checked on flipkart ~1900/-, while the sense is going for ~1200/-. If you want to buy a Speed edition mat, go for the Roccat Sense OR Control edition, go for the reliable Razer Goliathus ~650/- [M].

If you want to get both, get the Razer Vespula Hard surface [with Control on one side and Speed on flipping it] ~1700/- [open market].

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

LOVE THE LOGITECH G500. nothing comes close to logitech in my opinion.... it may not look as funky but its the best mouse i've ever come across..
