Gaming Mouse - M60 vs G500 vs G9x vs Inferno vs Storm + Gaming surface

G500 all the way.. I have been using it for 2.5 years now and its an awesome mouse. The thumb buttons are very useful. Also, the scroll wheel not only scrolls and presses, but also goes left and right, which is very cool as it gives you extra 2 programmable buttons. So, usable buttons are 2(LC + RC), 1 middle key stroke, 3 thumb buttons + 2 left right motions of mouse wheel. And if one is anal enough and dont need to change DPI in game, then they are 2 extra buttons.

One warning though, my left click button started double clicking about a year ago and the right mouse button works intermittently from about the same time. I havent got any chance to approach a warranty center for this, but I guess Logitech's warranty is all right in India, so that should not be a problem for you...

Might I plug for the G700?

The first wireless mouse that I've been comfortable with. 1-2 hours of BF3 everyday. The battery lifeor lack thereof is a bit of a pain (lasts 2-3 days on a charge), but I can deal with that.

Is big and super comfortable and has a whole bunch of buttons for customization as well.

Way out of my budget

The R.A.T. mice are -- 1) Very expensive, here in India. 2) Don't know about their service network. 3) Search around on the net, their have been reports of unreliability. So seriously until you have a direct contact in the US OR UK, please keep the R.A.T. aside. Scarab is very expensive, checked on flipkart ~1900/-, while the sense is going for ~1200/-. If you want to buy a Speed edition mat, go for the Roccat Sense OR Control edition, go for the reliable Razer Goliathus ~650/- [M]. If you want to get both, get the Razer Vespula Hard surface [with Control on one side and Speed on flipping it] ~1700/- [open market]. Hope this helps, Cheers!!

I'm stuck again.

In the mouse department its G500 vs M60.

In the mat department I'm not sure which edition would suit me better, speed or control.

So wither I could buy Goliathus Control ~ 623/- now and if I do not like it then go for Sense ~ 1207/-. Or I could straight away get a Vespula (Mass Effect 3 Edition
<
) ~ 1706/-

Scarab is apparently a hybrid of control and speed.

#Gannu need your opinion on this one as you bought it recently.

Not trying to hijack this or anything...where are you guys getting Corsair keyboards from? I havent found a single online website listing corsair K60 or K90 or any mouse. Is this from local retailers?

Apologies for the late response Mohit! I've been using the Scarab for over a week now. Coming from a clothpad (QCK+ for over 4+ years; will miss it badly!), it took me sometime to get used to the hard plastic surface and the mouse response was kind of over-reactive. i.e. you apply a little force, the movement of the pointer or crosshair is too high. Had to reduce the sensitivity of my DA as a result. But after a day's usage all was fine and I have got used to the pad now.

I can see that you've finally opted out of the DA. This is my third DA and the second of the second gen. The previous two developed double-click issues after a brief period of usage. I am afraid even this one may not last long. Might get a SS Sensei or Xai next time. Have tried the MX518 (second gen.), MS IE 3.0 and all of them developed some issue or the other over a period of time.

anyone here on TE selling these premium mousepads???? the only one available in my city are the cheap ones priced at 20 bucks. once upon a time, there was a shopkeeper, who unknowingly stocked 1 pc of that Razor large size mousepad. later when he realized what he had in stock, he priced it at 2K. the actual market price for that one was not more 900 to 1K. poor fellow.. i dont know if hes been still able to sell it or not.. in my city, people hardly even buy the cheap ones..

the table sunmica is smooth enough for them.. and the scratching sound that they get all the time from it is sooo pleasant for them.

I think with Gannu's view on the same you should go for a Scarab.

Prime ABGB and TheITWares are reliable sources for good mousemats @decent pricing.

Also do look into flipkart.com's selection.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Any views on Razer Vespula?

I really like the ME3 version as far as looks are concerned

Not that Scarab is bad looking...

No worries mate

I had to opt out of DA as its conked of twice in 2 years. I do not want to go through the same RMA issue in the 2nd year of ownership.

SS Sensei is out of my budget sadly, though I am interested, and Xai is too plain for my liking (keeping the features aside)

Even kept RAT mouses out because as #ALPHA17 said, they are expensive while they shouldn't be and service network is unknown, thus I wont risk it.

Still stuck between M60 and G500. Gone through tons of reviews and can't figure out which one is better. Similar pricing is not helping much.

Hey mjumrani,

Sanket here from Cooler Master. If you play BF3, i would suggest the Inferno mouse. It has some neat features for e.g. the tactical rapid fire button. This button is hardwired to fire a continuous burst. You just have to hold down the button.

For the pads i suggest you also have a look at the Battle Pad DP - 5mm thick and ultra-smooth weave. Both products are available on Flipkart.

If you want to see the product before buying drop me a PM. Will work out some thing.

Cheers!

Sanket

Arey I meant that the link I find when I google are blocked

So I gave you a few direct links too.

Control pads are cloth like and speed pads are plasticky or fiberish?

Yeah the control pads generally have a cloth like feel to them.

Speed pads generally have a finish that the Control pads do not get. They have a plastic /smooth crystal like finish to them.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!
