the mx310 or MSIE 1.1 both are ambidextrous
of the 2, i suggest the mx310...really great for quick games like quake/UT
at thread OP, dont get the g5...stick with the mx518
laser sensors are a pain
it only works on the steelpad that too if the mousepad is cleaned once a month

i have tried these mice so far::mx518,mx310,g5,MSIE 1.1 all on steelpads

and at the person talking about the mx518, the way i hold the mouse, there is space between the top of the mouse and my palm
i agree that it is purely subjective

best to try a friend's mouse if possible before buying one
and get a good mousepad for sure....its a half-arse experience without the pad

How good or bad is the MX310 compared to the MS 1.1?

I see that it has some extra buttons, but I want to know if it will track flawlessly in games without skipping... ever.
