Gaming PC @70000

That looks good, but I'am looking for some other brands, but still a ATX.

Hmmm... the closest that can come to your requirements is the ASUS P8Z77-V ~15500/-, the issue is most other companies have not released their motherboards yet OR I will check and add few more links. Cheers!!

Hopefully, I will be able to scrounge some up from the likes of MSi, Gigabyte.

Sire I think this motherboard will be more than enough for you, it has a pretty good layout, even for a µATX motherboard -- ASUS P8Z77-M PRO.

Advantages of the ASUS P8Z77-PRO over other Z77 motherboards on flipkart.com and other online retailers --
  • It has heatsinks for the MOSFET area, something that is missing on Gigabyte motherboards, atleast the competing Z77P-D3 edition.
  • The layout is pretty clean, I don't think a large graphics card will interfere with the highly dispersed SATA ports and USB 3.0 header.
  • It is available, the most important thing over all other considerations is that the motherboard is available whilst the competition is nowhere in the picture.
  • The socket area is also clean and devoid of any obstructions.
  • You said you will not SLi / CrossFire hence you will be able to use the extra PCI slot OR the PCi-E slot.

Competing motherboards from Gigabyte --> Gigabyte Z77P-D3, ASRock --> Z77 Pro4 ~9500/- [but I am not aware of their A.S.S., so am wary to recommend it].

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

alpha you need to explain what is wrong with asrock, their extreme series are as good as gigabyte and b/w the asrock extreme 6 series pulverises the intel board in the reviews .What do you mean by a.s.s asrock

After sales support of ASRock, what did you think, I asked who was responsible for the After. Sales. Service / Support. for ASRock?

Look even ASUS motherboards are good, their Achilles heel the pathetic A.S.S. provided by Rashi Peripherals.

Hope this dispels any doubts, Cheers!!

Should we apply thermal compound on the processor before fitting the cooler(Either supplied with the the processor or bought for OC'ing ).

Which cooler are you going to use, the stock cooler OR a third party HSF, if it is the stock cooler, then it will have thermal pad pre-applied.

If you are going to use the third party HSF from the get go, you will need to apply the TIM yourself. If this is your first run with TIM application, follow these guides -- http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2009/02/16/all-about-tim/1 / http://www.techpowerup.com/printarticle.php?id=134.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!
