90K+ Gaming PC build help

Sujay

Apprentice
Hey everyone!

After some thorough research and fine-tuning, I’ve finalized my gaming PC build for 1440p ultra settings gaming. Looking for feedback before I purchase.
My budget is 1.5 Lakh. Can extend if there is a major performance increase.
If anything is overkill for the below list, I dont mind cutting the price down.
This would be my very first build and a noobie. :shy:
Also if you can suggest prebuilds that are worth the money, I don't mind considering.

Let me know your thoughts!

Most parts you mentioned are overpriced in your build.

Some tips from my side:
  • 7600x/non-x can handle 1440p ultra without throttling, next cpu worth an upgrade are 7800X3D/9800X3D.
  • You can get a 5070 Ti for 87k but its not worth it, 9070 XT offers better value unless you do ML/productivity stuff.
  • You should get atleast 2TB SSD's(single or multiple), you might find better offers here on the forum itself.

Agree with Diablo on the graphics card. 5 series are way too overpriced on what they offer right now.

9070XT would give lesser performance in Raytracing and nearly equal otherwise.

+1 to this but I'd swap new 990 pro 1TB for SN770 2TB or one of the open box 990 pro 2TB. Also, cheaper 2x 16GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM options exist under 9.5k.

That's great. Thanks for the build!

I second the 7600X, its much better suited here. I'd also recommend the 9070 XT over the 4070 which is already a generation old and not worth the retail price.

The 50 series is also arguably the worst generation nvidia has ever released, all things considered, which makes amd a better option at the moment.

I'd also recommend an 80+ Gold PSU instead, it's worth spending a couple thousand more here to keep your expensive PC safe. Something like a Corsair RM850. Refer to this tier list for options (I'd go for anything you can find that's in Tier A) https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the replies.

Processor:
I have decided to go with Intel® Core™ i7 processor 14700.
I have done some research and I see mixed reviews. I have learnt that they have had degradation issues recently but also heard that they fixed it with a bios update.
I like the extra cores you get and I need the build for productivity and gaming both.
That's the reason I thought I would stick with Intel and not AMD.

If there is anything I need to be concerned about please advice.

GPU:
Not researched much into this as I don't think my budget will allow me to get a card along with the rest of my build.
I will have it in maybe 2-3 months time.
Considered 4060 ti.
Would need help with selecting the exact vendor.
I see Zotac, Gigabyte, Inno3d, Asus, Nvidia - Can I go with the cheapest ? Please suggest.
AIO:

360mm AIO
Case:
This is something that I do not want to spend too much on.
I want to go with an all black build. Need it to have good cable management and most importantly fit all my components well.
I have no idea with what to go with.
Came across MSI Forge 320. Need suggestions please

Power:

850 w just to be safe

MOBO:
Need a suggestion please.

Will work on storage, ram later.

Need a suggestion please

This is the best budget mobo according to me
Has good vrms, 12 phase
Would be enough for 14700

Any brand is fine, still I would say avoid inno3d, have heard it's lower quality compared to others, but can't say for sure
You can go with zotac, for 5(3+2) years warranty(you would need to register on their website within a month of purchase to get the extra 2 years of warranty

im using 7600 non x model for 4k gaming with 5080 zero throtting whatsoever unless you play on 1080P i donno i would never do that on my 55inch oled tv,so didnt tested it

It might if you lower your settings from ultra to get better framerates - which i always do to try and get atleast 80-90+fps.
But yes much less of a bottleneck most of the time.

R5 3600 is very old.

R5 7600 + 5080 will outperform say 9800X3D + 9070XT in almost all cases at 1440p & 4K. So get GPU to 5080 before thinking about upgrading CPU from R5 7600 (unless you need the productivity performance jump, which case R9 7900 is good - avoid 7700X & 9700X because of poor price).

yeah agreed.

But i wouldn't buy 5080 for other reasons. 16gb vram at that price seems wrong ( bandwidth seems to be nice).
Plus all the issues that Nvidia gpu has these days.
Connector issues might be less likely but still is possible over time. Gpu companies in India are unlikely to accept burnt gpus even if its their fault.
Who wants to keep checking for burning smell ? :)
Also it was reported that their power electronics might be running at high temps ( and not visible in software)
Plus bad value for money.

9070 xt is ok for the price ( 16gb still will probably have issues in future at 4k ),

-----------------

Anyway, i dont think he is looking for this.
7600 should be good enough and if budget is a constraint, definitely better to get a better gpu over cpu upgrade from 7600 for most people ( maybe not for competitive players)

New video, has indian pricing too, yay. But at 1440p. At 4k difference with 5080 will be more probably.
9060xt 16gb and 9070xt seems like best buys. 5070 is decent but lacks vram.

case msi forge 320R - 4 pre installed fans and 360 mm AIO would fit at the top easily
and if u go with 4060ti (dual or triple fans can be accommodated easily) 472mm length of the case
GPU - u can find better deals for used 3080 in bangalore or the forum itself
