Gaming Rig For 40k

If you are going for E2200HD, there is no use in getting HD4850.

E2200HD is fullHD display and HD4850 will not be able to drive games at that reso, which means you need HD4870 at least which costs around 15k and for that you also need a better PSU.

E7300 has higher clock speed, higher bus speed, higher amount of cache and hence it is highly recommended if you seriously want a gaming rig.

Compromising on processor for keyboard, IMO is not a good thought!!!

dude I am gonna oc the e5200 upto 3.4ghz and if u getting a high end gpu then 1mb cache difference does not make any huge performance difference :P.I hv been running all latest games at 1680 res with ma e2140:P with all settings at max except crysis series.

@desiibond Games can be run at 1680 res too

Not very sure but Biostar retails a 790GX board seemingly good at 5k and thereabouts.

Or better still get a board based on the 780G chipset. Asus M3A78-EM. Not very sure of the pricing but rest assured it'd easily fit into a 40k budget. :P

Thats what i said earlier... Where i put E7400 instead of E7300 as of lil confusion.. BTW Will GTS250 can able to handle games at the reso of E2200HD?

oh yes, they can be played at 800x600 too but LCD on non-native resolutions sucks.

Pull off that 4.4k keyboard, and add another 1k-2k and you will get a HD4870 that blows off all the games at FullHD, thus giving uncompromised quality on a FullHD display.

GTS250 too won't be able to handle games at FullHD. If you want to play games with full eye candy on at FullHD, get HD4870 atleast.

PS: it's just my opinion. it looks to be a seriously unbalanced rig. FullHD and midrange GPU, processor with superior OC capability and mobo with pathetic OC features. Gaming rig and tin sound emitting M2600 speakers!!!

:)

hey the config is suggested by u all only:P

And the guy for whom I am getting is not a techie he jst wants all his games to run smoothly,he does not care abt reso and eye candy.

^^ Better we back-out from suggesting..:D

AFAI my prev post, i said u can OC in ASUS 790GX based board a lot more, than what you can achieve with the G31M-S2L...

And no one ever suggest you to get 22" with HD4850....

hey a 4850 is enough for a 22incher.:|.I am using it currently

Wat config would you suggest, give me full config.

yeah 22incher is a must,I am going for benq e2200HD.

How is this Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L mobo for overclocking

rajkumar_pb said:
Nice but not so extreme.. You'd better consider a MSI P35 or P45 based mobo if you like to OC a hell....
I'd suggest you to get atleast E7400/E8400(if you'll able to extend ur budget a lil) or X3 (if AMD).
Rest, go for what desiibond suggests

Are you kidding me? People have pushed to 4Ghz on that board in this very forum. It's absolute VFM.
If you're going for the E5200, no competition, but if you're considering going for the E7400, i would suggest looking at AMD options

PS: Regarding the monitor, i suggest the Samsung simply because it looks better, go with whatever you get the best deal on.

EDIT: 4850 should be good enough for 22inch as long as you don't want to max everything/play on insane resolutions. Also, if available go for the G31 M ES2L revision as opposed to the normal one, it has more solid caps., energy saving features and a better ferrite choke. Either are a good choice though.

A Phenom II X3 720BE + a 790GX combo would beat almost any rigs mentioned in this thread so far. Prove me I'm wrong and I'll get him/her a candy! :P
A Phenom 720BE + 790GX also costs a whooping 7k more than G31 + E5200

UR config is best in budget. E5200 is very good VFM.

Core 2 Duo E5200 - 3.5k

Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L - 2.4k

SCCF 92MM 1.8k

Transcend 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz : 2.5k

Samsung S223F : 1.1k

Seagate 7200.12 500 GB - 3k

Zebronics Antibiotic: 2k ---> CM Elite 334

Corsair VX 450W: 3.9k

Benq E2200HD: 12k

Creative M2600 Speakers - 1.8k

Logitech G15 - 4.4k

Logitech MX518 - 1.4k

Total : 46k approx

OC E5200 to 3.8GHz+ and no other combo can beat this VFM :D

yes and I suggested a dell 19" display which is not FullHD that matches HD4850 and a processor+mobo combi that works and overclocks like hell.

:)

At what res u play?

E5200+G31 mobo is best budget combo, but considering ur 40k budget only, i suggest P35/P45 and E7400/E8400.

Now you have to decide which one to get.....???
