Gaming Rig for 45k: urgent need.

Hi guys,
My cousin is actually in need of a gaming rig and his max budget is 45K
I have choosen a config. could u guys pls verify it and lemme knw the changes,if possible
I'm buying this tomm. probably

AMD PhenomII X4 955 BE + Gigabyte AM3 880G - 12K
Corsair 4GB DDRIII 1333MH - 2K
Seagate 1TB 7200.12 - 2.8K
Benq G2220HD - 7.4K
MSI 6870 1GB - 13K
NZXT Gamma - 2.1K
Corsair VX 550 - 4.6K
Logitech MMKB - 400
Gigabyte GM6800 - 650
Samsung 22X SATA DVD - 950
Altec Lansing 2.1 BXR1121 - 950

Total comes to around 47K
Any changes required with the config as well as the prices i have stated ?
Pls advice my fellow TEiates.....

This isn't gaming specific includes surfing,movies,downloading n software use....

Intel Core i5 2400 ~ 9200/-

AMD HD 6870 / 6850 ~ 11500/- / 9500/-

NZXT Gamma ~ 2100/- + 2 x 120mm fans ~ 600/- [to set up a good airflow]

Corsair VX 550W ~ 4400/-

[rest of your configuration is fine per-se, so happy RIG hunting]

Reasons for suggesting as following --

--> Intel sandy-bridge architecture has matured and performs the best for price / performance ~ 11000/- mark.

--> AMD HD 6870 is a great card for full HD resolution, with medium eye-candy, if you think PHYSX and CUDA are indespensable to you get the nVidia GTX 560 Ti ~ 14000/-.

--> Add another RAM module later, preferably G.Skill RIPJAWS 1600 MHz CL-9 again, for pairing and Dual Channel modules will double the bandwidth available to the processor, so better multi-tasking -- http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/133.
 
If you are spending so much on a 6870 would reccomend 560TI over it or 6950 1gb, price is very close and well worth the upgrade.

The AMD HD 6950 1GB will be the best bet @13000/- Sire, until you feel PHYSX and CUDA are absolutely necessary to your life, benches -- AnandTech - Bench - GPU11.

AMD HD 6870 is the best value in OP's budget [HD 6950 and GTX 560 Ti are pulling it] -- AnandTech - Bench - GPU11, the HD 6870 performs decently and sips lesser power than the GTX 560 Ti.

But 2k more from 6870 to 6950 totally worth it my book its pulling budget but it makes entire config much better imo. 560/6950 both 1gb 560 would make sense but it doesnt matter dont think there is any difference in performance. Dont think you would be able to use too much physics with a 560 anyways.

Maybe better to go with i3 and better video card .... anyways it doesnt seem OP will have some heavy use I think i3 will suffice with 8gb ram. I know many here think 8gb is way too much but 4gb for gaming is 2008 now :P and with current 4gb stick prices I think 8gb is just right.
 
^^ The world is getting more and more heavily dependent on multi-cores, here I disagree with you Sire, OP needs a Core i5 2400 minimum in my books if he want to game and wants a future proof RIG.

The AMD HD 6870 will last him atleast a year with all games @full HD and medium eye-candy, I agree an upping to the GTX 560 Ti will allow him to use PHYSX and CUDA but I don't really find lack of it crippling my gaming experience in any ways. The AMD HD 6950 is another story it'll be able to handle Eyefinity monitors [upto 3 monitors in tandem with reasonable frame rates, but I don't see OP doing that either], so I staunchly back the HD 6870 as the most value for money bet out there for OP.
