PC Peripherals Gaming rig for 60k

The way things are coming up, any new chip or platform is redundant when they're launched. Jump in when it's new, u're worried about the stability. Too late, it's obsolete. If the tech is relevant for a year or so,that is quite a long time. By this time next year, there'll be another new platform in the near horizon...

For 60 K u can defiantely make kick ass machine !! my choice will be

ABIT MOTHERBOARD IP35 - E PRO - 5 K
Q6600 - 10800
MSI/EVGA/XFX 8800 GT 512 - 13 K
500 GB SATA 16 MB CACHE - 4500
CORSAIR VX450 - 3800 K
CM690 - 4 K
2 * 1 CORSAIR XMS 2 800 MHZ - 2700
22 INCH MONITOR LG22WTQ - 13 K
SATA DVD WRITER - 1200 LITEON / LG

TOTAL COMES TO AROUND 58 K STILL U SAVE AROUND 2 K WHICH U CAN BUY SOME MODDING STUFF :D and if u buy some many things from one shop itself then u can definately ask for some discount ;-) hehe

Hey, for CPU E8400 is better than Quad.

Q6600 - (2.40GHz; 1066MHz; 8mb L2)

E8400 - (3GHz; 1333MHz; 6mb L2)

For gaming what you require more is Clock speed(3.0GHz in C2D & 2.4GHz in Quad) and FSB(1333MHz in C2D and 1066MHZ in Quad). So i would recommend E8400 over Quad.

A friend of mine overclocked his Quad to over 3GHz ...so planning to do the same but still what would be the approx price for E8400??

Here it goes -

Intel E6550 - 6800
Abit IP35-E - 5700
1X2 GB GSkill 800Mhz - 2500
Viewsonic 19" with DVI - 9100 VG1930wm, VA 1926w
LiteOn DVD Writer w/ lightscribe - 1500
Cooler Master 690 - 4400
Cooler Master 600W Duo - 3500
Altec Lansing VS4021 , ATP3 - 2600
400GB Seagate Barracuda Sata 2 - 4100
APC UPS 650VA - 3000
MSI 8800 GTS 512MB OC - 18000
Logitech Keyboard + Mouse - 600

Total - 61.8k

or u can change 2
Intel E8400 - 9000
Nvidia 8800GT MSI - 13000

Total 59k

Theres nothing special with E8400 as such...
The games just require a specific procy like P4, C2D, C2Q etc..

But if u want 2 overclock then u shld take E8400, but this will not leave an impact on ne type of games...E6550 can b overclocked easily upto 3.8Ghz

With E6550 u will be able 2 g8...8800GTS G92 wch is far b8r than 8800GT

The choice is urs :)

Planning to buy my new rig by mid april 08....

More Inclined towards getting a HD3870X2 from UK than buying a 8800GT cos getting it for around 18K.

....then y dun go for higher power smps too for future safety like cm 800w true power series??

cos having more power on the power supply doesnt mean that it can be future proof. A good quality with great efficiency and a balanced power is something that one needs to look when buying a psu. Corsair hx620 is more then enough!!:hap2:

AFAIK very few games will use all the 4 cores for processing..
Tat option is left to u...

3870X2 fer 18k is a steal.. :)

Get a Coolermaster CM690 cabby... Its priced around 4200 bucks..
A good one with bottom-mount PSU...

However the cooling fans it comes with sucks..
Get 3-4 Glacialtech 120mm @ around 340 bucks ac.. has good CFM..

In delhi, the CM690 shud be available @ NP.. Consult SMC and Comp Empire..

Thebanik is a freq n trusted customer of SMC so get in touch with him n see if u can get the CM690 @ a good price.. :)
