if you want USB3.0 mobo, look for Gigabyte X58A series. From what I can tell from Newegg, there is minimal price difference between X58 and X58A series. But knowing how things work in India, the dealers will either tell you its not yet released or try to rip you off by charging way extra for that.

we always are a bit skimpy when we get down the HDD , so rather then the 1TB drive i would suggest that you have a look into 2x 500GB drive running in raid 0. a lot better performance. Ideally it should be a SSD but i think you get a bit more performance from that config if you go for that HDD setup

rest i would go with what others suggest

IMO Raid0 is very risky, one HDD fails, everything gone. With 2 HDDs, chances to fail upps 100%, so risk not worth, unless u have another external HDD with full backup. But that's simply crap and a waste of time. Thus, suggestion for the Seagate 1TB, it's very very fast.

i never realsied hdd failed at that rapid rate ...well i got 1 failure in 14 years of using computers seems a bit high.

^^ dude you think YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD using a COmputer? I'm talking in general.

I havn't got 1 failed HDD in my entire life with computers(from 2000 till now, I was in class II then, and got a shiny new P4 :P)

saying that raid system is crap cause of HDD failures dosent sound like a sound argument ... and "DuDe" take it from some one who worked for DELL XPS hardware division that dealt with 6 series and 7 series desktops which had raid as a basic config in them.

run any gaming machine with even sata III drive is limiting the the bandwith in offer for data transfer from the HDD when you want to run everything at max at HD+ resolution you are trying to get every ounce of performance from your system in those case we are limiting the system in a huge way. Why do u think people go for SSD even with lesser bandwith compared to the ram to cpu from a sata III the burst speeds from SSD are much better.

if indeed it is limiting. reason this one out.

How come a HD5970 performs better than the HD5870 is the HDD is already limiting the HD5870 which again is a very powerful gfx card?

let me put this way .. put in 2x5970 in crossfire and a sataII 1tb hdd drive and wait for the game to load ...

then try the same with a ssd or 2x 500gb in raid and check the load times

you will know the diffrence... if you are gamer who wants to get every inch of performance out of your rig and getting all the latest droolmall and oc to the max possible settting then you will appreciate it.

if you just want to have fun for a few mins every day then u dont need the i7 in the first place

Well, the OP in question is going with a HD5850, which is 1/4th of a 2xHD5970. And also, if indeed someone has bucks to spend on a SSD, let them. I only say as per the budget which speaks itself that it cannot accomodate an SSD in a regular(within 1 lakh) budget.

I dont want to drag this any longer and leave this as my last comment if u look i didnt suggest a SSD i suggested a 2x 500gb hdd in raid which is well within the budget , also people who are intersted you can get a ssd drive for 160$ from newegg they got a nice offer going on for ocz drives
