Graphic Cards GeForce 8800GT Vs ATI HD 3850 & 3870

errr.... If I am not mistaken .. most of us live in India .. unless you import from US .. none of this value for money offered by HD3850 or 3870 is for us ..
when I last checked prices online ( i am yet to go to SP Road to check them myself ), it was 14500 for 3850 and 16200 for 3870 from some GECube brand .. (here is the link ..TheITWares - Graphic Cards ) ..
so at these prices its better to stick with 8800 gt ...
 
absolutely right john117....... .in kolkata 3870 costs around 15k+vat.........so no way i am getting hd3870 i will be going for 8800gt for 13k
 
You're right John. Sadly, we indians are always on screwing end when it comes to latest hardware at reasonable costs. Even the 8800GT was selling overprice in early days... I believe it's still is bit higher that nVidia's promised price.

Even in this case GeCube's HD3870 card is available at $249 (approx 10k), on newegg, while we are getting it for additional 6k premium.

I, most probably will be trying to get HD3870 from US... I'm sorry that I overlooked that part, my mistake.

missed all the action, but i hope the above posts clear outs your misconception of cheaper price for the 3870/3850 in India. I look for best bang for buck my money can buy and hence if you see my signature, everything i have will give u the feeling that i take out the last drop of juice from my equipments and nothing thats just for Showoff.

and also post the clocks of ur 8800gt if u are OCing it ..
I too had the same config if had built the system 4-5 months back .. but I am getting ma new PC by Dec end .. then its gonna have q6600 and abit IP-35 pro .. rest almost same as urs ....

right now fans are at 70%, and OC of 736/1836/2000 for core/shaders/memory on my 8800GT.

:)... I keep hearing that, but getting HD3870 for 10k from US still stands as a best option. Not to mention, I look forward to use this card for more than gaming (Max, Aftereffects and so). Let's just say that, whatever I said earlier about Price-to-Performance-to-Power ratio still stands true at that cost.
 
No point in getting ATI cards in India, they way too overpriced, cos like MSI and Asus have ATI cards too but somehow they will not sell here...

That said 3870 becomes attractive only if it is atleast 2k cheaper then a 8800GT
