I've WINXP-home-sp2.

I've installed all motherboard drivers.

When i start my PC after few minutes i get this window with the message -

Generic host process for WIN 32 services has encountered problem & needs to b closed.

After that the volume on winamp, vlc player wouldnt work.

If i click on the volume control i get this -

There r no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices goto control panel, click printers & other hardwares, and then click add hardware.
The programme will now close.

When i restart, again the same problem.

please help

this is cause of your NET

if you are using 2 net at a time then this error occurs

this error commonly faced by PACENET users

Re-install Sound driver...everything will work normlly

when tht error occurd your sound drier get damaged

so better use good ISp like TATA

Would appreciate if you inform us if updating the drivers helped you or not, otherwise I'd start worrying if my driver/ hardware related problems are occurring because I'm not using good ISP like TATA.

Seems like audio driver issue.

Reinstall the drivers from the motherboard CD or get them from the manufacturer's web site.

If you are updating any drivers from Windows Update, do not update them. They usually cause more problems. :P

Thanx guys!

1.I use YOUTELECOM broadband network.

2.When i try to re-install drivers through my motherboard CD it tells me that the drivers r already installed.

3.I never ever! update my windows

^^ You need to update them, so download the drivers from the manufactures website(s) and then install them ....you might want to try autopacher for some windows updates too.

read the other posts with the same topic :D (there are 3-4)

same problem with bsnl too but windows updates can fix it

WindowsXP-KB921883-x86-ENU

WindowsXP-KB894391-x86-ENU

search these 2 updates for sp2 and install them...

it fixed it for me....used to get same problems when left the net running for 15-20 min...and also some windows would show the old windows98 themes

But i thought updating windows or sp2 creates prob further for users. After installing it gives more n more errors.
How is the broadband service responsible for this?

My motherboard is too old and outdated,i have to live with the motherboard CD provided.

^^it wont create any problems...just do it :D

i dont know how the broadband service is responsible...but when i hook up my cpu in college network, i dont get any problems but the same system at home on bsnl net gives me the problem...

i suggest you install the updates to get rid of it
