Laptops Getting a laptop from U.S...Please suggest.

This query is for my friend who is getting a laptop from U.S through his uncle. His budget is around 500$
Criterias are should be light weight, only for basic usuage wont be using for any high end applications. Please pour in ur suggestions and if possible post the link.
It would be good if it carries international warranty, but not sure i can get it for that price.

Guys plzzz pour in your recos. Its urgent i need to finalize by today evening.

Why get a laptop from the US? Are there any advantages in doing so?
Or is it just to save a few bucks in tax.

For Rs. 25000 odd, you can get the Samsung R517, the Acer 4736 (I think) and Toshiba P510 in India. Check offersforshoppers.com.

2 reasons to get a laptop from the US-

a. Very cheap.

b. LOT of options.

And with companies like, asus and toshiba, global warranty does it for me.
