Getting a Macbook pro configured and shipped from US.

Hi All,

I've planned to get a macbook pro 15, But some of the points i would need.

Hi res screen.
I don't think its available in india. We need to configure it from US.
I can arrange for the money, But how to pay and get it shipped from US (Aramex?)
I don't have anybody in the US to bring it to me.

What should be the requirements and procedure to follow. I need a hassle free shipping to my place.

^ The duty for laptops is only 15%

You can also try asking ICC World for a quote.

PS: The entire 2011 MBP range is available in India. Picked up the MBP 13" 2011 yesterday. Will post the link to Show-off soon.

Checked with apple guys, Its not available here. (Its a built to order one)
Only the dafault configs are available here..

Ok, got it. The one with the custom high res antiglare/matte screen option. Yup, that's not gonna be here anytime soon.

On a side note, sourcing one yourself from outside is gonna attract a hefty duty + hassles. For some additional cost added to what you'd spend getting the 15"+100$ screen i'd think you can actually get the 17" here itself. A little bulky but if you are ok with the bulk its the best thing money could buy. Sells for about 1.42L MRP so the street price could be actually in the range of 1.3 to 1.35 depending on your bargaining skills. :)
