Hi,

Am not able to get the USB's upfront to work...is there any changes in bios or something that is required. The CHIII would work prefectly fine, so its not a cable or cabinet issue...just that my current mobo seems to not like it....do I need to do something..

BTW there seems to be an extra row of pins after fixing in the usb cable onto the mobo...is this normal as well or what?

there are 4 pins per usb. usually front have 2 usb slots so there sould be only 8 pins - 2 pair of 4 different wires. please reffer to the mb manual for the wire order of the front usb .

Some motherboards (mostly older ones) don't provide enough juice to reliably run bus-powered 2.5" external HDDs and higher capacity USB sticks, but will work just fine with low pwer devices like USB mice and keyboards. Is your's a similar situation?

In the BIOS Settings, check whether the USB is enabled or not. Also, as mentioned by Uniquemods, check whether the wires are properly connected.

And if not, finally check with your Device Manager whether the USB is enabled or not ;);)

front USB is to beconnected from mobo pins thru cable..

if your back USB is working , you dont have a n issue with mobo, just getting right connection will solve your issue..

Thanks guys...looks like the connectors were fixed wrongly by me...was missing one set of pins as the slot is wider by one pin on either side..thanks for the help.
