Hello people.Am getting a new HT+Gaming PC.
Budget is 80k.
This is the rig I have in mind.

Any Intel Quad +Mobo Comb---20k
Dell 22'' monitor--15k
1GB 4870--16k
DDR2 RAM 4GB---5k
640Gb WD HDD--3.7k
Cabinet+PSU--10k
Altec Lansing MX5021--6.5k
Any DVD writer--1.5k
Any Keyboard+Mouse combo--3k.

Please take a look and suggest any modifications and improvements you may have in mind.

^^^what cabinet only???

lol.the forget the HTPC part...Consider it only for gaming.........

Most gaming PC's are good HTPC's anyways!

^^AMD can be had........But I have heard AMD CPU's are generally problematic and over heat and stuff..........Also I don't do OC'ing or any other thing.........So considering that if there is a good CPU+Mobo combo in AMD i am willing to go for it............

bTW:::Please take care that the mobo is CrossFire enabled.........I'll add another 4870 a year down the line!

But ur rig doesn't even come close to 80k...

Moreover, why the meagre 22" in a 80K PC??? Get atleast a 24"...:ohyeah:
Dat will do justice to the 4870...:P

Go for an intel core i7 920..
Dunno abt the MB... coz i genarally go for Amd.. but at this pricepoint
(80k:S )
man thats huge.... i7 is the best...
get a really good MB.. gigabyte has really good ones, if u dont plan to overclock
go for their ud3 series, lasts really long..
As far as the graphics are concerned go for the Sapphire ATi Radeon 4850X2 1gb, kickass performance... good value..
if u are not sure of dual gpu cards then go for nvidia gtx 285.. Around 30k..
Get 6gb triple channel corsair dominator.. if u dont bother getting components from abroad get the Mushkin 6gb xp 1600 mhz... even the graphics card too.
please PM the most respected dealer named katmandude abt it...
give him the links of the products from newegg...
He will source them from US for really good prices and provide support in case anything fails.. u have to pay for the shipping but.. but its still amazin,he is good.
Go for the Tagan BZ 850W or corsair 850 HX..for the Power supply.
The monitor can be the dell 24" e-ips panel. check this before buying..
Heck u can even go for bigger panels if u like it..
Get the Antec 900 or CoolerMaster storm sniper cabinets..
If u plan to game much.. like playing on steam.. get the logitech g7 laser mouse or the MX518..
get the logitech g15 keyboard...
u can even look for Brand Razer for the above..
get 2 Western digital velociraptor and put in Raid 0...
for mass storage(if u store lots of HD movies) get WD itself with 1 TB capacity..
This may go slightly above 80k depending on what other components are...
Also i dont know the latest pricing.. it changes rapidly...
if u dont plan to game much then u can downgrade the graphics card to 4870 1gb and get the i7 965 extreme..
Wait for more suggestions from the more respected and experienced members..((I'm a newbie as my title says))..
They will update u on the prices and more..

^^Yaar you have compromised on the most important thing to me::Graphics.
See a cheaper monitor and the 512MB 4870.I was thinking of going for the 1GB 4870 and the Dell monitor which I have heard is better that BenQ's.

I can definitely compromise on a sound card and use the onboard solution. For me graphics>>>>>>>>>sound. But yeah I need GOOD sound, not anything super exceptional.
So you see If i get the i7 then ill have to compro on my gfx solution. If you can still suggest something,Ill be glad to take note.
But thanks a lot anyways for the great help!!

Alright so what you can do is,

Chassis- Antec 900 ~ 6000

Motherboard- Biostar TPower X58 ~ 13500

Graphics- Sapphire HD4870 1GB Edition ~ 17000

LCD- Dell S2209W ~ 14000

If you still wanna reduce further , then go for a 3GB DDR3 RAM kit instead of a 6GB as of now and you will reduce a lot more! (Around 3-5K). Also as someone said above depends on where you live , if you do not live in a metro city (near a metro city) don't think of an i7 , it's gonna be real expensive for you then.

^^I live in Agra..........200km from Delhi......I am sure my local dealer will be able to arrange an i7 from Delhi..and if he doesn't the

AMD 940 isn't going anywhere!!!

GPU-[/B] Sapphire HD4870 512MB - 11000

Where do you get this at 11k buddy?

Processor- Amd X4 940 - 13000
Motherboard - Biostar 790GX 128MB - 5500
RAM- Corsair 800 MHZ ram 4GB - 2600
GPU- Sapphire HD4870 1GB - 17000
Chassis- CM HAF 932 - 8500
PSU- Tagan BZ800 - 8000
HDD- Western Digital Green 1TB 32MB cache - 5900
Monitor- Dell 24" - 15000
Soundcard- Asus Xonar DX - 4000
Speakers- Altec Lansing MX5021 6500
Optical Drive- Samsung Octoedge 20x - 1100
Keyboard- Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 - 900
Mouse- Logitech Lazer Mouse G5 - 2000

This will be Good for Gaming and HT. You will love the quality of sound and picture. As you are getting HAF 932 heating will not be a problem. and who told you AMD proc have problems?
Total will be nearly 78k. 2k for Extras Headphones cam etc..

Agra... hmmmm. Why don't you catch a train or drive to Delhi. Go directly to NP and shop for your stuff. As a tech enthusiast, you will love it :)

^^I am 16......I dont think Dad will just give me a wad of notes amounting to 80k and tell me::Jaa beta Ek PC khareed ke aa.....LOL.......Andhe will never come to Delhi for buying such *ccordng to him* USELESS stuff..........

So ill have to contend with Agr as for now..!!

Senthil your config looks great!!

But are you sure we get a 24'' Dell monitor for just 15k...I think it should be around 19k somewhat!!

With 80 grands i wouldnt recommend anything below HD4870... go for a HD4870X2 if possible... that would be some kick a$$ along with 24" FullHD :hap2:

I guess with AMD X4 940 and HD 4870 would be future proof. be sure to get a good PSU 800W or above.. Corsair or Tagan...

Oops... with CEO in your name, I thought you must be somewhat older than 16 :P

Never mind, Senthil's config is quite good. But I will suggest you take a good look at Antec P182 as cabbie because in Agra you are going to have trouble with dust. Also P182 is a quality product all the way.

Don't get Tagan 800W. Instead go for TX750 from Corsair or Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750W.

Get two HDs. One 500 GB (7200.12 from Seagate) and another a 1TB HD. Put OS on first HD.

Dell 22" 2209WA is a better monitor than what Senthil has suggested. But it will also cost you around 4K more. You will also lose full HD but gain better colours and better ergonomics (very important) and better viewing angles (again very important while watching movies).

If you don't get the stuff in Agra, take help of dealers here. :)

here is my suggession
Biostar 790GX 128MB 5500
Phenom II X4 920 10500
Corsair 800 MHZ 2x2GB 2500
2 x Sapphire HD4850 1GB 24000
Antec 9000 9000
Tagan BZ800 8000
seagate 7200.12 500GB , 32MB Buffer 3300
Dell 24'' 15000
Samsung 20x Sata 1100
Total 78900

and use the remaining 1k to get a keyboard mouse combo from microsoft or logitec..
