He can actually invest the amount spent on petrol/diesel (especially when the petrol prices are so high) on the computer. You probably would get a 4870 in place of a 4850 , thats how high the traveling expenses would be. :P

Rather buy a 3.0 from T.E itself.

Amarbir has good stock (with pics) in the Dealers thread.

And the RAM's will be Corsair XMS2 4GB 800Mhz right?

You may also consider - GSkill Pi Black 4GB 800Mhz. They are kind of better but you may have to invest few bucks more on it.

Not really... a train ticket costs around 80 bucks one way. So that makes it Rs 160. and train service between Agra and Delhi is good. If traveling by own car, petrol cost will be around Rs 1200.
will be easily justified by the price difference that computer hardware is going to have between Agra and Delhi.

Of course, it's no longer matters. he is not going to Delhi now :)
 
why not the 720 be.. it has enough juice for gaming.. it even matches the x4 920 in that area .. where it loses out is otheer proffesional stuff like encodings etc where the multi cores come into picture...
i would have suggested intel e 8400.. but its EOL thts why..
AMD can be upgraded later..
this will knock out atlest 4k from the price which he can put for the gpu which will be the most critical component...
but i will suggest not to go anywhere above the 4850x2 1 gb as the scaling u get doesnt justify the price...
for now ddr2 will be enough for now.. ddr3 doesnt give any significant gains...
unless u upgrade soon.....
 
Won't a 4870 1Gb be beter than getting 2*4870 1GB.

You know it all depends on the budget.If i save a few bucks on the monitor I may be able to get a better gfx card and all such calculations.........!!

Anyways bhai agra mein Dust ki itni prob nahin hai....Waise bhi mom is a cleanliness freak so the original cabby wont be a problem............!!
 
Another thing i wantd to know is that if i get the 48701Gb or the GTX 280 from newegg thrgh KMD(if dad allows)..........they will of course be without warranty............So i mean do these things conk off??

Are they stable to work without probs for at least 3 years....???

I mean i got the PS3 knowing it is a very stable product and even if i purchase it from the grey market,which i did,I wouldn't need warranty...........

Similarly,I did not get the 360 coz it is known to conk off without notice..

Wt bout gfx cards in he same sensE??

You haven't ordered through kmd before so you probably won't be having any idea.

kmd will provide you with the best possible stock of cards , at the cheapest rates , with three years of personal warranty along with the original warranty of cards. If anything at all happens to the cards (which shouldn't , touch wood) all you have to do is just ship the card over to him in Mumbai and rest is his head-ache. It's the best means of getting a card at cheap rates.

Also since you've purchased the cards from kmd they obviously will have a good re-sale value on Tech Enclave and similar sites. :)

I dont have much idea about gaming mouse. and the ram is corsair XMS2 800mhz only. Is Gkill pi black availalbe in India?

I seriously doubt that you will get the ready stock of the items you require in sanjay place agra, and even if the dealers become ready to source these products from delhi, they won't come with a price tag suggested by members here... have you even tried inquiring any hardware shops in Sanjay place?

the best option is still to go along with a friend to Delhi, Intercity is good.
 
Hey people.....I have ha to skimp my budget a bit because I ain't selling my PS3.

Plus I am not getting a Monitor or Speakers..........

I will use my 26'' Sony 720p LCD TV.............And it's sound too....So that saves me......

Meanwhile the rest of the configuration is::

AMD Phenom II X4 920 + 790GX motherboard. 20 k around

ATI Radeon 4870 1GB 17 k

500GB HDD 3 k

Transcend 4Gb RAM @ 800Mhz 2.5k

DVD writer 1.5k

That Just leaves the Cabinet + PSU........Please suggest one.

The earlier ones were going over budget...........Please suggest a more modest one..

PS::As i Already said i Don't OC.

PS2::KMD quotes 13k for the 4870 1GB............Should I go for it????

As I asked before are graphics card pretty stable products say like my PS3???
 
if u dont overclock why go for the black edition phenom 720 be...
Baba isko black edition is liye kehte hai, taki isko overclock karna chahiye...
