We are constructing a house and will be buying 6 geysers for 6 bathrooms.
Can u tell me which brand and model shd we go for and what will be the approximate price?:)

Racold gysers are good. And they are an established brand..

come for around 2k last i checked..

EDIT:- We had a similar requirement, and we preferred a solar water heater.. got 2 150lit ones for abt 50k..fitting extra..

guys who are recommending solar water heaters , you do realise he might probably be in a location where theres less of sunlight in which case the heater will become redundant ?

and also solar water heater requires a 6 feet height difference between it and the water tank

so if you are going for solarwater , great go for it but you will still need instant water heaters of lower volume because there will be days when the days go cloudy and you need hot water ..so better to get some 1 litre / 3 litre one ...racold right now is giving a 3 litre one at 2300/-

if you want normal ones you can still go for racold , i think 20 litres will be around 5000/-

Guys ... sorry for being thread hijacker ... but bathroom geyser has gone kaput and need to buy new one urgently

please suggest which brand and model ... which one is be cheapest model from racold 15L ?? ... don't wanna put big money as I leave in rented flat and will be here for max 7-9 months i guess

^^If the geyser is okay and only the heating element has gone kaput, buy the same coil and get it replaced, you will spend 250-300 bucks max. same is with thermostat will cost around Rs 125-200.

geyser water tank itself is leaking :( .... there is high chance of electric shock :@

So don't wanna go on repair way ... no plan for shock while showering :P

Then to its absolutely NO NO, leaky tank is not to be ignored, throw that thing asap.
I am using Symphony Columbia 25 lts storage geyser since last 10 years in an acute hard water area, the tank is still in great condition. Have changed the heating element thrice(conked off in 07 first and then every year new element) and thermostat once(last year). Pretty satisfied with the geyser, strongly recommended.

my uncle has a gas geyser. if you are going to get piped connection, gas geysers are more suitable, since they work on just 1-2 aa cells for ignition, instead of electricity. cant tell you which model, since i don't remember it.

For the height part it requires a separate tank mounted on a stand, neither of which are deal breakers, also add to the water you can store..
you'l find hardly 5-7 days in a year when the water is not hot, even then it will be warm enough for most purposes..
But we do ahve agyser in our place just in case:P
Just use it one in a while so that it gets some exercise..
Yes its a Racold one..

Solar water heaters where the terrace/roof permits it and there's enough sunlight during the day. The ROI in this case is the highest and you're reducing your carbon footprint this way. Storage is practically unlimited - depends on the number of panels erected and the no. of reservoirs and their capacity. Initial investment is the highest! V-Guard is a very trusted brand in solar based water heaters.

Gas based water heaters where there's a CNG pipeline network laid out. ROI is lesser than solar water heaters in this case but a lesser capital involved.

Electric geysers if it does not leave you with the above choices. ROI is the least in this case and the geysers would eat the electricity for breakfast, lunch and supper! Racold, Bajaj, Venus, V-Guard etc are established brands in this segment.

buy the racold ...there are 2 models one with plastic body and one with fibre body...plastic one is cheaper by 1-1.5k but feels flimsy

I have 25L Venus and Racold heaters in my and my father's house. The heating element is of 2kW for 25L. Venus takes twice the time to heat water (18-20 min) vs the Racold heaters(10-12 min). Overall, I've not had any problem with my Venus water heaters but I feel that overall, Racold is better.

I feel that fibre body really does retain heat. If I forget to use the hot water in my heater for an evening bath, the water remains warm until morning. I bought fibre body heaters to prevent rusting and I must say I'm quite satisfied with it.

get the racold electric heater, some models come with a programmable On /Off, otherwise go for a solar water heater
