Hi
I am looking for a decent mobo - processor - gfx card combination around 20-25k. (can also extend to 28k)
Casual gaming + entertainment.
Processor preferably intel. confused between dual core , quad or i5/i7. and a mobo compatible with the processor.
gfx card preferably nvidia.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks .....

Core i5 750 - 10.3k

Gigabyte P55 UD3P - 6.5k

Ati 4870 - 8.2k/ Ati 5700(Dx11) - 11k / Palit Gtx 260 - 11.5k

Total - 24.7k/ 27.8k / 28k

I wud personally advise u to go for Ati 5770 - 11k cranking ur budget upto 27.8k but it will futureproof. Moreover Ati 5770 is less power hungry , less heat dessipative than all other gfx and being a dx11 card will help u to play the latest dx11 games releasing in december.

(What is ur psu ? If it is generic then i wud advise u to go for ATI 5770 )

U shud always mention ur psu and at what resolution to play . Makes giving suggestions a lot easier.

thnx a lot for the suggestion

PSU wud surely depend on the final config I decide to buy ....... I had kept aside 6-7k for psu + cabinet + optical drive

monitor :: viewsonic 1912w widescreen 19 inch 1440x900

wud selection of psu matter much ??

Go for a quad now. No point in going for dual core now. Almost all new games are multicore optimised.

Core i3,Core i5 5xx,6xx series = dual core
Core i5 7xx ,Core i7 8xx,9xx = quad core

For casual gaming Ati 5770 will be best.

U may call PSU as the heart of a cpu as it supplies power to all components.

If it supplies uneven quality of current then ur cpu, gpu, mobo, ram stand a high chance of degrading slowly and steadily and then die.

Dude seriously think ab8 changing ur monitor to at least 22" or else u will never be able to run full potential of whatever gfx u buy now.

However if u plan to keep ur monitor, then ATI 5770 wud be the bust buy.

Does it support 1920x1200 , then ATI 5770 (if u have generic psu) or ATI 5850(For corsair vx 550 etc)

yeah it is 1920 x 1080 ...... but I guess 5850 goes beyond my budget ......will 5770 be gud enough considering the resolution and HQ movies on the TV

For that budget, I’d say go for an AMD based rig. Here’s my suggestion:

AMD Athlon II X4 620

790FX based MoBo and

ATI Radeon 5770

This would give the best VFM.
