Gigabyte 890 fx ud5 and GTX 580 compatibility

hello friends ,i am a new user to this forum
i am facing a problem as i am not certain whether i can use gtx 580 card with my gigabyte 890 fx ud5 motherboard , i know that it does not support for a two way or a three way sli but all i want to know is that whether i can use one single gpu with this setup
and whether its good to go with
my processor is phenom 2 x4 965 be

please guide

Yes u can use the GTX 580 GPU wid the 890FX-UD5 motherboard...

are your plan to buy new gpu card and board with cpu

p.s if not then get i5-17 sandy bridge with p67 which it is faster than old cpu version

or if u have the board with cpu alone so u should get ati 6970 or 6950 in crossfire if u love cf setup soon

The GTX 580 is what the OP should go for better drivers, and power consumption will be in check, you won't be disappointed but if he goes for AMD card then driver issue will be simplified <as in no repeat downloads for nVidia and AMD drivers>, here are some stats Bench - GPU11 - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News, go for the nVidia card bruv.
