God of War (GOW) Collection is nothing but remastered version of God of War and God of War II in High Definition on Playstation 3.

Below are some of the features of this edition:
1. Unlike in PS2 where both titles ran at resolution of 512 x 448, this version runs in HD on PS3.
2. The original release had no anti-aliasing. This GOW Collection has been remastered with 2x anti-aliasing to reduce edge artifacting and provide smoother looking graphics.
3. PS2 were pushed to its limits by the GOW titles and could run it at variable 60FPS.
On the PS3, GOW Collection runs at consistent 60FPS.
4. A Full collection of Playstation Trophies have been added to both titles, making it
easier to keep track of all of your GOW accomplishments.

Its a must play for anyone who owns a PS3 and has not played this trilogy yet.

P.S: I had initially bought the GOW III, but on @Gannu recommendation, I bought the GOW collection to understand the characters and the story better.
Thanks @Gannu.

I have started GOW I and it is very interesting and keeps you absorbed.

Warning: This game has nudity, so this is not meant for your little cousin or brother. So a little discretion is advisable. I came to know this only after playing the game on LED TV in my drawing room. Luckily no one saw it, else I'd be :dead:

Glad that a thread is in place. :)

In case you get stuck somewhere (which I highly doubt since this is pretty much a straightforward title with just a few easy puzzles thrown in), let us know here! The cover for the collection has changed it appears. When I had sourced the title 3 years back, it had a different cover. Maybe, the Essentials edition has a different one.

Bluepoint Games did the HD remastering for these titles, the MGS HD collection and the Ico & SotC HD collection which you should play once you are done with the GoW series. I cannot stress how awesome Ico and SotC is. I am glad some of the good titles that were released for the PS2 were released for the PS3 later with enhanced visuals and trophy support.

So far, where have you reached Pradeep?

this collection was out quite sometime back... i still remember gow 1,2,3 were the first ones i played on my ps3 ...
though the essentials pricing is quite good ... looking forward to get the collection vol.2 for the same pricing

Yeah the essentials cover is different. I have reached the Rooftops of Athens so far. I do not play a lot. I play only on weekends if i find time and that too for like 1 or 2 hours max.
Good part about these re-mastered editions is that they offer pretty good value for the money just like the PS+ subscription.
Yeah would play the MGS HD, ICO and SOTC once this gets over. Seems like that might take a while :P
I also have Hitman Absolution and Infamous 2 from PS+ lined up next.

Finally finished GOW I. Took me 11Hrs 15min.
I really got tired of jumping around so much in all those mazes :banghead:
Started with GOW II now.
Finally after getting the Pandora's Box after crossing all those mazes and jumping around like crazy. I really got pissed when Ares stabs Kratos and he goes to underworld. Again i had to jump and do balancing act so many times against so many obstacles. I was almost on the verge of discontinuing the game, when i was finally released from the underworld. :dead:
Felt so relieved to fight with Ares, then. I found the boss battle too easy. Killing Hydra was difficult. May be i got trained after all those jumping and balancing.
I expected the boss battle to be more of challenge though, which it wasn't.[\spoiler]

^^^The difficulty of the Boss battles and the minions depends on the level of the game you chose i.e Easy/Normal etc. Try this game in God mode and it is really punishing.

Let me rephrase what I said.
I was talking about the relative difficulty in any mode.
Since i played in normal mode, I was comparing the relative difficulty in that normal mode only.
I found battle with Hydra and the jumping and balancing act more difficult, than battle with Ares.
Of-course if I would have played the game in GOD mode, it would be more difficult. But that goes for any other game as well.[DOUBLEPOST=1372072745][/DOUBLEPOST]@Gannu, How is GOW II?
Somehow I felt it is going to be much better than GOW I, with a boss battle in the very beginning itself.

I wanted to reply to the thread yesterday but missed it. :/

Yes GOW II is indeed better than the first. The combat has improved, the storyline gets better, better characterisation (with several more flashbacks to his past, we get to know Kratos better) and epic boss battles.

Which is this boss you are referring to here? I can't remember jack! Played GOW/GOW II more than three years back! :P

I have just started. Kratos defies athena and comes down to destroy some city. There was this eagle which then sits on Kratos and Kratos becomes small and loses power. Then that eagle sits on top of a big statue which comes back to life. Now I need to defeat it.

I don't remember anything. :banghead:

I do remember Kratos fighting some other bosses (can't name it here lest it would spoil your experience) but not this eagle. Really sorry about that bro. :(

Nope...I started off with it, but then Gannu convinced me to stop it and get the GOW I and II. I would play III once I am done with II. Am done with I.

If you like the trilogy, then you can pick up God of War Collection Volume II, which houses both Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta in HD. Ghost of Sparta is absolutely fantastic in terms of exploring a lot of Krato's past. So if you want to dig into Krato's back story, then these 2 games are imperative to your collection.

Are Kratos doesnt fight eagle. The eagle sits on a big statue and the statue comes to life. Kratos has to fight that live statue.

Sorry man, don't remember jack! :(

Anyways chuck that, how's the game progressing now? Have you got used to the difficulty spike you were experiencing? And what difficulty mode are you playing this in? Mortal (Easy) or Spartan (Normal)?

I play the gamein Normal Mode always. Yeah i have got used to the difficulties and the onscreen command thing.

FInally completed GOW II also. Did not play for long as I used to be busy, as you can see my last post was in june end.
Took off for 2 days during christmas and finished it off.
It was much better than GOW I and longer. Lot of puzzles. I still found the boss battles to be pretty simple, especially the Third Sister of Fate.
Looking forward to GOW III. :D[DOUBLEPOST=1388413919][/DOUBLEPOST]Also purchased a second hand copy of Dishonored. I would play that next after GOW III.
Cancelled my PS+ subscription too, as i wasn't utilizing it. Also that the games cannot be played, if your subscription gets expired which is really bad.
