saw some of your posts mentioning you stay near gorai :S

geographically/politically nearly half part of gorai fall in to Thane district :) & I'm sorry if I mentioned any where same as I stay far away from Gorai.

@annababu, Don't go by whats mentioned in their websites!! Call up the customer care...they will have many good plans which are not shown in their websites.

Sadly they didn't

@ all,

thanks again for ur valuable opinions

as per experience shared by u guys i don't find any wrong going with Docomo. For me,Those days gone of getting SIMs & checking them(after lot of Maskabaji Docomo sales guy visited as its Mobile Number Portability, they visit only for new connection as he said). now due to workload its hard to find time even for family..nyways its diff. part

Looking for ultimate solution & Docomo will be the final choice!!

as per internet i'm not fancy having 3G as my usage limited to checking mails 2-3 times a day & most important is share market, so at least for 3-4 hours/a day net will run, i'v no clue how much data it will consume? any guesses?

As there's no guarantee about the coverage while roaming i think there's need of alternate operator as backup

what we're planning to stick with one MTNL-TRUMP Connection for Roaming, as i had good experience so far especially in Konkan Region & many remote areas in Maharashtra, only one bitter experience was in Udaypur,Rajshtan when there's no network at all, it was countless number of times called CC & had verbal fight.

Now deciding on Backup SIM which will certainly come to rescue when it comes to roaming mostly in Maharashtra- as I said above its MTNL but would like to have opinions on Idea as well..!!

I ported my Aircel No. to TATA Docomo just for sake of trying their service.

I had no issues with Aircel :)

But Network Coverage of TATA Docomo is Inconsistent :(

Sometimes No Coverage at all Indoor.

Even i was in my home network it used to show Roaming, pretty weird.

Wrong Balance Deduction and Pathetic Customer Support :@

One thing they are Good at is Making Ads but not at providing service

Some experience on docomo from bangalore.

Their 3G coverage is good in Bangalore city. Even if you opt for a 2G plan and have 3G set, they get connected in 3G with 120 KBPS max speed [ Most of the time, I get 129 KBPS consistently]. When I go out of karnataka, it automatically switches to Roaming where there are two options: 1. if you put this on automatic mode, it connects to the best partner available, call quality is good but the roaming rates are high 2. If you force the phone to use docomo, then in connects only to 2g networks [ In many places, docomo provides 3g connections locally via a partenr, but docomo towers are on 2G and partner towers are in 3G ]. Generally when you are in 3G network, call quality is good, but quite questionable in 2G network.

Happens here too. But i got the matter of wrongful balance deduction solved by speaking to CC and threatening to complain to TRAI.

in last week switched to docomo, could'nt update due to net issues.

MNP process was hassle free, done within 7days as promised.

overall its good, but seems to be it tied up with many others.

recently on journey to thane i was getting roaming icon & then it got switched to BPL Mobile, i did call CC & 'v been told that due to ti-ups i'm on BPL n/w bt the charges would as per Docomo plan only.

as my brother works near worli naka he has problem with network. the network never gets automatically switched always have to select manually(though config. for automatic switch in settings) & even after selecting loop no n/w :(

there's sadly no use of docomo if no n/w, a step outside office and its full n/w. registered a complaint and company's eng. 'l b visiting place to check issue..let's see!!

also one new thing i observed that whenever we can call we get message Call Forwarding; never seen such msg anywhere, even while calling each other same though we haven't forwarded. No answer with CC & Area Manager told me it happens with Vodafone as well bt there's nothing to worry about.

I will keep updating it with experience later on

^^Thats why i always stay away from new operators. Whats the point of cheaper tariffs when you are not going to get network?!

that may be true but then the same problem with Oldies as well :(

wish if i could extend my stay as Docomo Customer but pathetic service from Telecom operator continues to Haunt us, Here's the mail to Executive of Docomo-

In December subscribed for DOCOMO Connection by transferring two nos. under MNP. Sales Person From DEEKSHA Communication, Santacruz, Mumbai came to my place & explained the details. As per his explanation CUG was Free where I can give ANY THREE TATA NOs. irrespective of CDMA, GSM(Prepaid & Postpaid both), LANDLINE on which I can make unlimited calls with absolutely no Limits. Filled the Form for two connections & opted For CUG for both as its very much helpful.

I gave the mobile nos. in written for CUG. After Few days, Got Confirmation SMS from Docomo of CUG Activation, upon calling "121" I'v been told that CUG Activated for two numbers.

But, When My bill arrived this month it was SHOCKING to see that mine & the other no. has been charged for calling on CUG Mobile nos. After visiting Docomo Gallery the staff said CUG Can't be activated for prepaid nos. & there's no such facility offered by Company.

It was so SHOCKING that I immediately called Sales Person who told me the Facility may have withdrawn by company few months ago & promised me to call back. In his next call he apologized & said company didn't inform about this to "DEEKSHA COMMUNICATION" so we thought CUG can be activated on Potpaid nos. & same said to u.

I don't know what the matter is but I'v been CHEATED BY OFFERING FALSE SERVICE WHICH DOESN'T EXIST.

Don't know How many customers have failed for this.

I would have never took ur connection if Inter calling is Not Free bet. Postpaid & Prepaid user as there are other Service Providers which were offering this.

Don't play with the Customer's Trust that's the only thing I will suggest u.

Got call from CC, as usual Apology, promises that this thing never happen again but again few shocking, never heard statements

1. CUG activated wrongly though I received confirmation SMS & same confirmed by '121' CC.

2. CUG can't be activated for prepaid nos. No company offer such thing but recently when I inquired about this to Vodafone they said they offer CUG without any such condition

3. CUG is not applicable for the plan taken by me though its clearly written on Plan Chart provided to me by Sales Executive.

4. CUG can be activated only for higher rental plans like diet 299,399 & only if two persons opt for same plan.

huh....it seems to be difficult phase now as on which telecom operator one should relay.

very sadly Prepaid can not be the ideal way for us or we would have been stick to it. but now it seems to be the only way.

We don't see any possibility of solution in our favor & we have to pay those unnecessary charges
<

share the thread on social networks, customers should aware of such facts & make decisions carefully

All operators have one or more problems.. So you left with no choice other than choosing the best for you yourself.

Docomo - coverage is not great. Moves to roaming within Mumbai itself.

Vodafone - used it for 2 years. They wrongly charged 5k and refuse to rectify it.. Even sent me a court order.. Getting pathetic customer care day by day

Airtel - ppl call this a failtel for a reason!!!

MTNL - Good coverage. Cheapest 3G

Reliance - Upcoming.. Showing lot of promise..

All the best..
