hi,
does anyone know any reliable online store to buy gold for investment purposes.or is there a better way to invest in gold(longterm not trade),
deepak

if its only for investment u can check out the gold funds .. its like mutual funds, only difference is that they invest in gold.

If your buying gold (not gold based investments) its unwise to buy from online. Somethings are best being shops in my opinion- hard drive is one and gold is another.

Where are you located??

What kind of investment you want to make?

actually own the gold in your hand or as funds ie on paper..

On paper is better . . . Why waste your money on lockers. . . .Post office is planning to sell gold as well . . . Dunno when

LOL..

If you're investing moderately high sums, then a locker charges wont be even worth thinking twice..hell even in small investments its nothing much..plus you could always use it for other purposes..

But when selling gold, they reduce some 2-4% depreciated value. I think that might not come into picture when selling on paper. Someone confirm :)

These are the more common Gold ETFs around..

Kotak Gold ETF

UTI Gold ETF

Reliance Gold ETF

The price points are at around the same range for all the Gold ETFs..

i'm in kanpur.
actually own gold in hand.(or some online service where i can own physical gold)

Its all depends on how u look at it. u can buy Gold ETf units now and whenever u need the physical gold u can redeem the ETF units and buy physical gold. U wont face any issues with keeping the physical gold this way.
