Good area and reliable builder to look out for a flat in Bangalore

I believe Bangalore is as good a place as any if I have to settle outside my home town in the next few years. While this is expected to be for personal use and not investment purpose, I still would not want to get into a place which may not appreciate at a normal rate with time.

With that thought in place, I was thinking an area between the main town and the KIA would be a good start to narrow down.

I am looking for suggestions on the areas which would see fair commercial development, reliable builders and upcoming projects or townships which I should narrow down on.

Any help would be most appreciated or any additional suggestions on what to look out for while going about this hunt.
