PC Peripherals Good quality wired USB optical mouse

Please don't buy anything from Paytm, one of my friend ordered BeanBag from Paytm and they only Bag was delivered with no Beans. It sounds funny but its reality. So I won't suggest paytm. :)

Have you decided on it? Check paytm for discounts though.

I haven't decided yet... have been busy.

Also, I had emailed HP regarding the mouse warranties with enough details in my email, but they responded back asking me to provide my phone number. They could have easily replied via email. Quite unprofessional IMO. When they call, I might not be in front of the computer, and/or might not remember such information with multiple queries. I have replied to them to reply me via email preferably, but have provided phone number too. Let's see.

Hmmm.. Microsoft mouse looks tempting, but is a bit overpriced for me.

Good suggestion about gaming mouse being tough and can be used for regular use too, but again, I think budget will be a problem.

Well, I did have a talk with the HP support on telephone. He probably had my email opened in front of him. I also had my paper on which I had noted the details in front of me. But, I did not get satisfactory replies from him, and I am still as confused as before.

The mice I am wanting to buy are these:

http://www.hpshopping.in/HP_X500_Wired_Mouse

http://www.amazon.in/HP-Optical-But...1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1458725042&sr=1-3

http://www.amazon.in/HP-KY619AA-But...1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1458725042&sr=1-5

I asked which one was better, and what's the difference between the two. He said that both are better, and that there is nothing different between them... just that they are of different series. He said one is USB 3 latest, but when I asked which one, he couldn't reply satisfactorily.

I also asked about the difference in warranty, and he said to buy from HP site to get full warranty.

He also said that if I had to buy from Amazon, there are HP authorized vendors, buying from which I will get the required warranty. But, I don't know how to locate such authorized vendors on Amazon.

So, I am still stuck.

There is also difference in warranty for two mice above on HP site itself. On individual pages, they both show 3 years replacement warranty, but on comparison page, there is only one year limited warranty shown for HP X500, and other comparisons are marked as N/A for that mouse. I forgot to ask about this part of the query.

So, I am thinking of going with HP KY619AA mouse, which I will have to buy from HP itself, if I have to get full warranty of 3 years, because on Amazon, it is 1 year only. Quite sad, because there is huge amount of price difference between the two sites. HP is selling it for ₹429, whereas on Amazon it is ₹299 only. Darn!!

One mouse that I have decided on is Logitech M105:
http://www.amazon.in/Logitech-M105-...1_9?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1458724880&sr=1-9

It's price is good, but unfortunately, since it is priced ₹350 only, it is going to cost me shipping charges.

Prior to my current mouse - MS Compact mouse 100 (this is in its third year) - I used Logitech 105. It worked well for around 1.5 years and then the mouse conked off.
In my home I use a MS wireless mouse which is in its 5th year and 4th set of batteries.
I use my mouse mostly for programming, photo and video editing but no PC games.[DOUBLEPOST=1459232527][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, don't just restrict to Amazon. Try Flipkart, Infibeam, Snapdeal

I personally have thrown 2 Logitech mice in 2 years.. The same problem in both of them.. The left button made double clicks randomly instead of single.. Finally, bought an HP mouse and its working alright so far in last 6 months.. Amazon link

@Ankur. ... I am going to buy this HP mouse. I want to know about the size. Amazon shows the size as large, whereas on HP site:
http://www.hpshopping.in/HP_USB_3_Button_Optical_Mouse

it's shown as a small size. What's the correct size please?

OK well, reading and listening to experiences, I have decided now on HP mouse. Waiting for Ankur to confirm on the size.

And instead of Logitech, I am thinking of going for Microsoft mouse. This is the only wired Microsoft mouse available, and of low price too:

http://www.flipkart.com/microsoft-2...8I8UuAI08=&ref=L:8887383301589453232&srno=b_1

But the reviews on the above page are quite mixed. Will this mouse be good? What do you say, @manoja2k ?

Same mouse on Amazon is priced a lot higher, I don't know why :O

http://www.amazon.in/Microsoft-JUD-...1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1459491439&sr=1-2

Usually, it's Flipkart where prices are higher, but this it's the other way around.

Anyways, Microsoft's official linik for the mouse leads to Flipkart, so if I am going to buy this mouse, will be from Flipkart.

Now, waiting for replies.

I tried to order the HP mouse via their site, but they don't provide the option of cash on delivery, other than toner and ink cartridges. So, I am thinking of ordering from Flipkart now, where this mouse, although costlier than Amazon, does provide a warranty of 3 years domestic warranty.

Now, I only need to decide on the second mouse, so I can order them both from Flipkart itself.

Still confused between Logitech and Microsoft mouse.

Yes, I am leaning more towards Microsoft now. Have been reading too much bad about Logitech mouse recently.

Unfortunately, Microsoft mouse is now out of stock on Flipkart. Will have to wait.

Dude, people have built entire pc's here in a week and you still haven't decided over a 300 rupee mouse since Feb o_O just buy a cheap one and be done with it.
Cheap mice usually last more than a year, even if they conk off it'll be cheaper to just go buy a new one than spending more time/money/petrol running to get em replaced.
Here's a sturdy + cheap option for under Rs.250 shipped, Genius makes good products in case you haven't heard of em.

Ah damn. :/ for 300 bucks its a steal. Friend had one many years ago, so long I had forgotten how the mouse looked. Oldschool CS1.6 and WC3 players will know. :D
@OP you really can't go wrong with Microsoft or Logitech for a basic mouse. I'd rate them higher than others. Just don't get the likes of iBall, Zebronics etc. We changed quite a few of them in my institute in just a few months. Currently using a Belkin there I think. And using the mouse which comes in the MK200 combo at home.

dont buy a wired , wireless is the way to go. a wireless mouse looks more aesthetic and beautiful. bought a dell one for 400 rs and the battery lasts 6 months even when i never turn it off. it has auto off function. plus no ugly red laser light as this one has a invisible one.
