Storage Solutions Good time to buy SSD??

hey guys i am looking for a fast but affordable ssd for my primary rig. So far I have set my eyes on the 120 GB OCZ Vertex 3 drive because of its very good performance. I am getting it for ~13.6k. Is it a good price for the SSD. Should I buy now or wait for a month or so for the prices to come down?
I am basically planning to pimp out my rig before I get my hands on BF 3
 
Yes its a good time to get an SSD, but do you really need the SATA 3 ones...they have some issues still,

you can get an older SATA2 one for now for your OS etc, I don't think BF3 will gain anything by being on an SSD...except maybe load times....

I am using a Raptor to keep my games on and I find it fast enough...

If you are keen on the SATA 3 ssd, then I suggest the 90Gb Force 3 from Corsair, they have lesser issues than the OCZ ones...but even I am finding it hard to find any retailer who can get me one of those.
 
the vertex 3 is a steal at that price

definitely worth it. also consider the kingston hyperx it is priced very similarly and it does not seem to have any of the issues as the other sf 2200 based drives

i myself am probably going to plunge in and get a hyperx soon :)
 
@moksh4u2 where are you getting the kingston hyperx?? i am not able to find it online

@infected..scratch that. They are out of stock now. I called them up. They only have the 240 GB force 3 GT in stock for 35k
 
^^ Lol..But do they even have an Indian site....?

It looked like something else to me maybe I went to a wrong location to look....
 
I got to their ebay site but could not find the one on the www.

anyway they dont have it in stock so no point looking them up now...
 
samsung 830 is high on reliability but slightly less impressive performance wise. I dont care much for reliability as I have a couple of TBs of back drives. I need excellent performance specially for smaller file sizes as I move around a lot of data. Also I do a lot of gaming and video conversion, so the extra performance is very much needed.
