Hey guys,

Are there any good UPS's available for ~Rs.2000.

Backup times of like 10 - 15 mins?

If 2k doesnt cut it, do go higher. I dont mind. Just though if a 2K UPS will cut it, theres no need

Thanks.

Well backup times depend mostly on the kind of machine you want backup for, could you mention the config ?

Well then forget about a 2k UPS.
You will atleast need APC 1KVA UPS to get respectable backup times.

Cost?

And do suggest others too... :). ACtually i can spend more.. Just though if a 2K UPS will cut it, theres no need :).

goldie get a Numeric 800VA UPS ... Numeric is a very decent brand and comes with 2 years warranty (even on the battery) .. it will cost you around 3k (approx) .. I have personal experience with Numeric and trust me its good.

here i'd like to ask......
would i have to upgrade the ups if im shifting from a P-III 200W smps to a AMD 450W smps?? with the remaining stuff intact?

goldie on long run nothing beats APC!!! go for Apc 800VA rs 4300
1 KVA seems to costly u can get a 500va and a 800 va seperate with the 1kva price tht is 6.8k.get Apc 800VA If You need more get another apc 500va to power ur rest components while 800 will be enuff for cpu to provide 10 mins bakup atleast.

girish, No, you wont have to upgrade your UPS.
The PSU doesnt draw more power. Its upto the components you have.

Not necessary... You wont have any problem but the back time will be reduced.
