Hi guys , all was well until Adobe unleashed a monster called Flash 11.3 . It destroyed everything :( .
Jokes apart , this is the problem am having .
Am no longer able to see videos on youtube . Before it was like this , I could see 1080p without a problem smoothly . The Cpu usage used to hover around 40-60( max ) percentage .
Now even at 360p , there is 100 percent Cpu usage :scared14: . Gpu usage is just 4 percent at max .
I am able to see 1080p videos in Internet explorer with 70-90 percent cpu usage and 10 percent gpu usagge , but am not used to Internet Explorer , I prefer Chrome .
First I thought the problem would be with the Hardware acceleration , so I checked it but all was fine .
I dont know why this is happeneing . I tried uninstalling the newer flash and reinstall the previous version , but it wont allow me , ActiveX is giving error
" This is not the latest version , download the latest version because it is more secure " .
Someone please help out , I ll be highly thankful to you .

Thanks for your time .

Must be something wrong with Chrome, not Flash. I have 11.3 and all my browsers work fine with Flash videos without any unusual CPU spikes

I have the same issue on both ff & chrome.
My gfx crashes if I play YouTube and if I continue to watch more the a hour or so, the display shuts off automatically but the pc still runs.

But the newer update fixed my problem
Why not update or install older version and see what's happens

Older version , Adobe is not allowing to install . I have the latest version of flash .
So both things arent going to work .

Try downloading the Flash installer, and installing AFTER disconnecting from the internet

I dont think the issue is related to Chrome, just to be on the safe side, do a complete scan.

This might be a possiblity. Just for the heck of it, I opened the same video on Youtube on Opera, IE and Chrome to see what was the CPU utilisation. I have a very modest configuration, I think this is acceptable considering this is an unusual scenario:

On a related note, damn Chrome. I just had one tab open and the CPU and memory usage are horrible.

Thanks for the reply , everything done , virus scan . Still problem persisted , after hours of madness , reformatted the PC . Windows does a lot of slow update patch up , its terrible .
Anyways again did virus scan with trial avira , again nothing . a 30Gb bluray isnt consuming more than 50 percent of the CPU .
I know flash is a bit heavy , so max should take 65 percent right . Previously it never went above 50 percent usage . IE9 is playing 1080 p just with a high cpu usage and lot of frame loss .
But google chrome isnt able to play 360-480 p . If it plays its at a terrible 4-5 fps and stuttering .

Thanks for the reply ,
1.Sir am very sorry I could not understand what were you trying to convey from this post .
2. Tried installing when the net is cut off , the flash player install but the activeX gives an error .
Still without activeX tried playing , same problem .

Any solution:( ? .
Guys please help .

From your screenshots, doesn't look like chrome is using CPU. There is something else which isn't there on the Task Manager screenshot you posted, that's causing CPU spikes

Thats strange , because only when the video plays there is cpu usage . Otherwise in no other condition there is cpu usage .

Edit : @agantuk : Sir also that time I wasnt running any other app to ensure there is so clash .
I ve formatted and check twice , there cant be a virus only crapping Chrome right ?.

Did you select 'Show processes from all users' and then see which process is taking the CPU?

Yes I did , check out the first pic I posted , Chrome is itself using 80 percent cpu usage and that was when i pressed print screen , otherwise it takes 100 percent in most videos .

The first pic shows 100%, it doesn't show Chrome is taking that 100%. Likewise your processes tab screenshot shows CPU usage at 95%, though it doesn't say that Chrome is using that. What I was referring to is what you get when you click on the highlighted option below, and then sort by CPU

agantuk : Sir obviously the task manager and paint and explorer will use some cpu also . Out of 95 percent , 88 percent is not huge ? .
opera flash.jpg
Check this in opera 12 , same video , but look at the cpu usage . Now I found out the difference , if you look in the video info , there is " accelerated hardware decoding + accelerated rendering "
now see for chrome ,
chrome22.jpg
Same result in chrome !!! .
So was a flash player issue but its not solved yet . This is only for full screen , where it is not on full screen , flash player immediately changes it to " software video rendering + accelerated video decoding"
soft render.jpg
Do you know how to manipulate flash settings ? I could not find the option anywhere , this thing automatically changes from hardware acceleration to software acceleration when it is changed from full screen to small screen . Do you know how to force it to choose hardware acceleration always in any screen size ? . Am not able to find it on google either :sos:.

Guys please help , anyone has any idea ?

@agantuk : Thanks for replying .
pepper.jpg
Yes that was a problem , did that before sir and reverted back to 11.2 from 11.3 , you ll see all 11.3 including pepper is disabled already .
the problem persists with small screen , flash automatically switches from hardware rendering to software rendering when player size is anything except full screen .
