Google has also released the next version of Android : Android L- 5.0 (Lollipop)
https://android.com/versions/lollipop-5-0/[DOUBLEPOST=1413391024][/DOUBLEPOST]Yeah $649 would be way too much for a nexus device. I may continue with my yearold Nexus 5 with Android Lollipop.

This is not like the old Nexus devices though. It's supposed to be a true flagship without any battery, camera or storage issues. A real high end phone instead of a VFM device this time around. It's really good for the Nexus brand but at 6 inches, I'm not going anywhere near it.

Not officially announced but leaks suggest $649 maybe. But my guess would be around$499.

It's official pricing man.

  • Nexus 6 will be available for pre-order through the Google Play Store in late October starting at $649. There are two colors to choose from - Midnight Blue or Cloud White - and two memory options - 32GB and 64GB.
Taken from the Motorola page at http://motorola-blog.blogspot.in/2014/10/nexus-6-from-google-and-motorola-more.html

That HTC made tablet looks sexy as sin though.

It indeed is!
I was hoping it would be waterproof as many Motorola phones are.

Motorola phones aren't entirely waterproof are they? I know they have a resistant coating but not IP68 certified like Sony devices are. I think the Nexus 6 would be just as resistant as any of the Motorola devices, but it's not a selling point.

Looks like Google is stepping up the tempo in no compromise Tier 1 devices.Another thing seems to be that Google no longer thinking about offending hardware vendors like Samsung by cannibalizing their devices' sales as both the Nexus 6 and 9 are capable of running with every flagship out there and not gimped in any aspect like the battery and camera on Nexus 5.
It seems to me that Google is now daring to hit right at Samsung who have no other option except Android as Tizen flopped hard even before seeing the light of the day. In addition to this they are hitting the Indian market with Android One which will surely kill off a lot of sales for Samsung.

Nexus 5 is OoS(32 GB) in the Play Store and I can only guess that we will be getting this phone pretty soon.Looks like Note 4 sales will be halved or at best they will shave off that ridiculous price .LOL

You're right and I can't wait :D Samsung is literally the Ebola of the Android world.

Samsung has already ruined the android reputation so much.
That is a bit harsh considering how much functionality the Touchwiz ROM has(One handed Mode most of all for phablets) in spite of the lag.But it is necessary for the market to come out of Samsung' hegemony so that people can shut up about the lag.

Just look at the SoC market to understand what happens if there is not much in the name of competition.Just rewind three years and remember the rat race b/w TI,nVidia,Qualcomm and Samsung. Then the Snapdragon S4 pretty much killed the market for other SoCs and now Qualcomm is sitting on their laurels only incrementing the speed by a standard 200 MHz for each year's top SoC.

No mention of RAM????????
looks like 3gb....
Dont know how the ring flash will work out hit or miss....

****, my mind says : Obviously don't get it. and my heart says: nexus, you can't resist.

So, I guess I am buying. With US pricing it comes around to 38k INR but taxes/customs and we are all fcuked! May be 39,999 but by taxes, it has to be 44,999 :'(

I was having doubts aswell but now that it's out, it's really hard to resist. Nexus 5 is great and all (I still have it) but I am kinda getting bored by the hardware now you know... New phone has a completely different experience. Btw, what the hell were they thinking making it 5.85" >.<
