****, my mind says : Obviously don't get it. and my heart says: nexus, you can't resist.

So, I guess I am buying. With US pricing it comes around to 38k INR but taxes/customs and we are all fcuked! May be 39,999 but by taxes, it has to be 44,999 :'(

NIGHTMARES![DOUBLEPOST=1413401947][/DOUBLEPOST]

I was having doubts aswell but now that it's out, it's really hard to resist. Nexus 5 is great and all (I still have it) but I am kinda getting bored by the hardware now you know... New phone has a completely different experience. Btw, what the hell were they thinking making it 5.85" >.<

Everything says me to go for it. I bought Nexus 4, then placed Nexus 5 order on play store the moment it appeared and now here it is, the Nexus 6. But because of its whopping price and very large screen size (6" really Google) I may not buy it. But who knows!!

For those worried about the size:

Nexus 6
159.3 x 83 x 10.1 mm (6.27 x 3.27 x 0.40 in)

Iphone 6 plus
158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm (6.22 x 3.06 x 0.28 in)

Even though the screen is almost half an inch bigger than the 6 plus, the height is almost the same. Where it might get tricky though is the width which at 10.1 mm will be a little chunky. They had to do it though i guess to get in that massive battery.

Same here, bought nexus 4 , sold it and bought nexus 5 on day one(actually day one of Indian release that was on 20th nov and have the phone since then).

Price and screen really concerns me for now. Knew Motorola will prolly screw it up :( ffs I hope they go to HTC or LG or may be Sony next year.

gizmodo was reporting their Motorola source told em the pricing will be 42,999 :/
and usually Nexus Devices won't go for discounts initially. This time it will be interesting to see how many they sell, i am not doubting the phone's capability. It is definitely premium but Google had created a impression earlier that Nexus devices are mid-range devices.

Probably Motorola's fault thinking this can stop Moto X sales. Motorola has lost my respect.

Until N4, Nexus devices were priced at par with premium devices and looks like Google has gone back to that approach.
With N4 and N5, Google created a huge user base for vanilla android, faster updates, etc. and now they are going back to creating flagship devices instead of mid-range subsidized devices which had mediocre battery and camera with the best SoC available.
I for one welcome this change as now I can finally buy a no-compromise Nexus device.

^^ Ya and for mid range and economy devices they have Android one now....
for mid-high level they will come up with more "Active" flavor devices.....
So from a broad view... Google has covered almost every kind of customer.... They seem to be getting it all right... atleast for now....

Yeah... and with Android L they now cater to the 64bit hardware market also.... this opens up a whole new field for device manufacturers and productivity centered customers....
Afterday yday's launch and the videos on their site clearly show that google's strategy is to put Android on every screen and I think the seamless experience will be just wonderful....
Acche Din are here after all :-p

On the other hand, if they price it at 42k with the camera and battery performing well, they could potentially dominate the phablet market. It would be a much better device than the Note 4 at 52k (once again, assuming the camera and battery are upto the mark).

How is this over priced?

The specs match Note 4 which is priced at 58K. Better specs and 13k price difference.

Yes, its expensive than N5 but the specs justify that price.

For me, the price is justifiable. But biggest let down is 6". N5 feels just about right in my hand and I handled a lot of 6" devices and I am not much comfortable with them. If they would have stick to 5" it would have been a great buy for me.

I want to buy Nexus phone, not Nexus phablet. In that case, I will get Nexus 9. Too bad Google!!!
